COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Mysteriously low RB rating... this is simply one of the best hoppy pilsners in the world! Dry and crisp, with a refreshing hoppiness and long aftertaste, fresh and clean with hints of mineral (due to the Friesland water used) and some grassiness. Attractive, firm white head. A perfect beer to just enjoy, slowly on it´s own, or with spicy food. A lot better on tap in Germany than from an exported bottle.

Clear pale golden with a full head. Grass and cereal aroma. Dry, malty taste with some citrus. Fresh, distinct bitterness at the end. Classic, still one of the better of its type.

Single can from the LCBO. Pours a light yellow colour with a big white frothy head, good retention and creamy lacing. Mild sweet aromas of cereal malts with the light Saaz pilsener hops. The taste seems sweet at first, but the hops create a small bitterness over it. No corn detected. Seems like a decent mild pilsener with nice hops. Much better than most Euro Pils.

Bottle from a Comarket in Tallinn (€ 0,99), Sept 2014. Right after opening the bottle I realise I’m not gonna enjoy this. Pours a clear pale golden with a white head that retains and laces nicely. Nose... terribly skunky, guttery, grassy, herbal, cereal, mildly sweet. Taste... grassy, malty, plain awful. The mild sweetness is accompanied by some bitterness. Thin body and somewhat watery palate, lively carbonation. This is crap. I really shouldn’t review such things.

This is not one I would get again. First of all the aroma isn’t right. Perhaps I got a bad keg, or maybe the class wasn’t quite clean, but it smells a little skunky. Hops are too strong, need to tone it down. Pilsners are typically very refreshing, this one was a labor to get through
