Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2014 330ml green bottle, poured into a footed Pilsner glass. Appearance is clear pale golden with a small white head that reduced quickly. Aroma of wheat bread, hay and honey. Flavours of wheat bread, honey and a hint of lemon zest. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is light bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. Overall a nice crisp and dry refreshing pilsner.

Grainy aroma, piss yellow with a foamy white head. Taste was grainy, clean, slight bitterness, pretty boring overall. Light bodied.

Bottle; pours a clear, pale gold with a white head; aroma is yeast and herbs with a hint of citrus; taste is a bit bitter with some malt, yeast, and hops; finish is short, dry, and bitter; I admit that I am not much of a pilsener guy but this one didn’t really get me excited enough to have a second one

500ml Bottle from Whole Foods Giffnock (£2.39):
I found this one to be quite a poor beer when I tried it again here, it was actually terrible in places with far too much bitterness coming through and a really dry feel that didn’t help matters at all. The body was a thin one but this wasn’t anything too serious, it was the taste that was the real problem here with very little to it at all. I don’t think this one will be a beer I go for again.

Pours very light straw colour. Tastes of grass at some hops. Not much going on here.

Can: Poured a bright yellow color lager with a large pure white color head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light cereal notes is not really noteworthy. Taste is also dominated by light cereal notes with some residual sugar notes with light dry hoppy notes. Body is light with good carbonation. OK pilsner bit nothing to write home about.

Nothing amazing, but fine. Light Amber colour, small head, light body but not watery. Aroma is not strong, but taste has grass and sweet malt.

Una buona pils, non la migliore che abbia mai assaggiato ma sicuramente non male. Bionda intensa con una sostanziosa schiuma ben compatta. Ha un equilibrato sapore di luppolo ed erbe.

Poured from bottle, pale gold with low white head. Aroma with notes of bread, grass and hay. Taste is bitter sweet and fresh, medium body and dry slightly bitter finish.

bottle @ Jungle Jim’s / Eastgate OH --- Bright clear medium amber with a white head that slowly erodes to a cover, globs of lace. Aroma of floral hops. Taste is malt that is run over by assertive floral hops, moving cleanly to a lingering finish. Nothing complex here, but satisfying and good with food. A good German Pilsener.

Clear blond, a bit grassy, a bit spicy, clean and probably fine for summer. But not a surprise at all. D@Sophieneck, Berlin
