Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2014 330ml green bottle, poured into a footed Pilsner glass. Appearance is clear pale golden with a small white head that reduced quickly. Aroma of wheat bread, hay and honey. Flavours of wheat bread, honey and a hint of lemon zest. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is light bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. Aroma: herbs and sulfur, some malty notes. Appearance: clear golden color, nice white head. Taste: medium bitterness (herbs), some malty backbone, aggressive taste with some iron. Palate: medium body and high carbonation, herbal finish. Overall: Classical German Pils, nice quality, but there are much better beers in this kind.

Pours murky golden color with minimal white head. Aroma is a bit grassy, slightly earthy, floral. Slight citrusy character, light bread, straw, some bitterness. Light body, medium carbonation, bitter finish. Really harsh after taste that lingers.

In the world of pils, this an an absolute top. Draught or bottle, the crispy, herbal aroma with utopian golden colour make a combitnation worth testing. This is what beer is all about, no tricks or wanna-be-revolutions.

500 mL can. Clear straw with a lacy white cap. Soft grainy malt, fragrant hop spice and floral notes. Crisp, dry and heartily bitter. A nice clean finish. Light bodied, full carbonation. Solid pilsener.

mateuszk (178) - Poznań, POLAND - JUN 21, 2014
Bottle. Look exactly like all German pilseners - golden, clear with white head. In aroma malt base with herbal hops (plus sometimes skunk - why green bottles?). In taste bold malt base backed by solid and quick hoppy bitterness. Light body, lively carbonation, very drinkable. Solid commercial pils.
