The Festivities: Oranges and other citrus fruit live in harmony with the classy bready, honeyed malt. Alcohol is very well-hidden for its size, roaming silently in the flowery hop profile. A lasting bitterness ensues but never exaggerates. Superb balance, I could drink this as easily as any well-crafted Bohemian Pils that is half its girth.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 23, 2005 Pours a clear gold color with a ring of white lace. Excellent aroma of saaz hops, very fruity. Excellent flavor of saaz hops with spicy, fruity and sweet element, the finish is bitter. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture. It’s very good and I like the fact that I couldn’t feel the alcohol at all, for a 8% this is an achievement. Sigmund (2278), Hafrsfjord, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2005 500 ml bottle, bought at Pivni Galerie, Prague. ABV is 8.0%. Golden colour, moderate head. Nice hoppy aroma, notes of caramel and berries. Flavour is hoppy (plenty of Saaz and probably other hops too) and moderately alcoholic (as expected from an 8% beer), but malty enough to sustain the hops and alcohol. Moderate sweetness throughout. Way ahead of most other high ABV golden lagers I’ve tasted. MiP (9065), Sønderborg, Denmark

The flavour is quite malty and sweet. Has a little spicy/sweet hoppiness. Sweet, but OK balanced by the alcohol. motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Bottle from Pivni Galerie, Holesovice: Pours deep golden with a firm, mid-sized off-white head; mainly malty nose (honey, bread, also nutty aroma) with some floral hoppy overtones and traces of alcohol; initia maltyl sweetness changes in "the second half": good, distinctive hoppy bitterness leads to a well balanced bitter-sweet finish. Well hidden alcohol, full-bodied and warming, but still refreshing. A goodie ! bierkoning (6029), La Tropica, Netherlands
