Sharp caramel nose, chocolate with some hops, lots of inky stout notes, some roast and fruit with booze more prominent than advertised. Deep mahogany pour with a tan head. Taste is somewhat sweet, restrained sugariness but it’s there, some mild maple syrup, inky fruit, silken and very mild chocolate. Touch of tart acidity, some wood (oak barrels?), booze is still a little high but not out of control. Light-medium body is flattish. Has some Flanders Red qualities but also a porterish/impy undercurrent.

Bottle. Quite a complex beer. Caramel, dried and dark fruit (redcurrant, blackcurrant, figs, raisins, blueberries), some red wine notes, subtle sweet chocolate and old dry wood. Reasonably full body, fruity, vineous and woody taste. Sweet, light tart with a warming, alcoholic finish that carries notes of caramel and chocolate. Despite being evidently alcoholic, the wood ageing has made it rather smooth. Very nice one and definitely interesting.

ABV: 9,0%. Clear medium red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sugary, toffee. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet with a average duration, sweet sugary malt, toffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130112]

Bottle from Karol, thanks. Relatively clear ruby-brown colour. Aroma caramel, fruity, light coffee, very light roasted. Taste fruity, green apples, caramel, sugary, hint of chocolate. Very light alcohol notes. Very drinkable. Finish is warm plum-caramel-alcohol. A little bit light body.

Bottle, many thanks Karol. Dark amber color with medium beige head. Sweet fruity, malty aroma with alcohol. Taste, malt, red fruit, milk chocolate, some roastiness, alcohol. Strong alcoholic finish with light bitterness. Good.

Bottle. Amber beer with s small offwhite head. Malty sweetish alcohol aroma, some whiskey. Sweet roasted flavor, chocolate, alcohol, Woody, whiskey. Too much alcohol.
