COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Orchard Gate Gold is fermented naturally in small artisanal batches from a proprietary blend of organic apples grown here at our Koan Family Orchards in Michigan. We have produced hard ciders here since the 1860s. This is the same traditional recipe that helped save our farm during the great depression. There will be slight variations from batch to batch, just as nature makes no two apples alike! Enjoy our authentic hand bottled American Farmhouse "Scrumpy" Cider with family, friends & food.

This looks light apple juice, golden with a slight haze, no visible carbonation. It smells of sweet fresh apples, skin, stem, and all. The flavor starts out refreshing enough, sweet apple, but there’s a nail polish quality that seeps in midway through. Very distracting.

Pours very light golden with an instantly disappearing head. The aroma has fresh crisp semi-tart apples and a pleasing natural sweetness. Medium / think body with a small amount of carbonation. The flavor beings with some apparent alcohol and red apples that seem more like apple juice than most ciders. The taste is very smooth with an apple flesh side. The finish has a bite that is a bit sour and shows more traces of alcohol. Overall, a good cider.

Pale yellow/orange/gold, no head, just a few bubbles. Nose of big time sweet candy apples. Flavor adds hints of tartness and must. Juice like body with light carbonation. Drinkable, but too sweet for me.

Pours a slightly hazy orange with almost no head. Smells like apple juice, with some mild carbonation. A lot of sour apple. The taste is very much like apple juice as well. Slightly acidic, but not really sour at all. Sweet and fruity on the palate. The finish is like sour apples and other fruits. Not bad, refreshing, sweet.

Jen says, "this is gross. it’s too sweet." clear straw yellow color, some white bubbles that go instantly instead of a head. aroma is apple juice, a little apple brandy too. flavor is almost cloyingly sweet like juice, but also some astringency like apple skins fermented in yeast, and a bit of heat like apple brandy. finish is lightly hot, aftertaste disappears.

This cider has no head but cider never does any way. There is a nice apple and buttery taste to it that slides down your throat very nice. It has a nice after taste almost like a nice wine but with hints of apple.
