3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(22 oz. bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julioís Liquors) Alcoholic apple juice!...Pours slightly cloudy light yellowish amber. A quick fizzy off white head. Some fine effervescent bubbliness. Aroma of sweet apples. Mouthfeel actually not bad - has more texture than a macro-cider. A little sticky, pretty smooth. Flavor is pure sweet apples, vitrually zero tartness. Actually tastes a little hot in finish, esp. as it warms. If youíd like to chug some sweet hard cider on a hot day this would be a good one.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours a hazy but thin yellow, a little too much like urine. Aroma is apples and vodka/alcohol. Flavor is nice and richly apple until the alcohol hits. Very dry. Not quite a drain pour, but pretty close.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow, no head. Aroma is tart sweet apple and caramel. Wow. Flavor is the same with some spicing and very very sweet. On the syrupy side. Itís definitely a dessert drink. I couldnít see consuming more than one of these in a sitting.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Gold, thin rim of bubbles around the outside of the glass. Nose is apple now & laters, port, sweet white wine. Flavor is more of that apple now & later, slight tartness, a bit of tannin, port, honey. Its good but way too sweet. If this was fermented out the the point of dryness itíd be great. Iíll keep this in mind next time a friend is looking for something syrupy. I had to lower my score for this. Honestly itís like drinking syrup. I measured the SG of this - its 1.028 - thats around the level of Expedition Stout. Thats wayyyy too much for a 5.5% cider!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours hazy pissy yellow color. Clean, brisk apply aroma with faint whispers of gin and lychee. Tart-sweet flavor profile not altogether unwelcome or unbalanced. Just simplistic. Still palate finishes on the cloying side but not overly sticky. Itís actually got some sweet appeal and tastes like it was made with care.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This is a decent cider of you like yours on the sweet side. Some spiciness detected. Went down smooth, but was not very memorable.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
pretty basic cider...aroma of tart apples...flavor is that of a sour green apple...definite sugar hints as well...more like an alcopop or alcojuice than a cider though

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2009 The label of this bottle looks like it come out of the early 19th century. I was excited when I looked at the label and saw there was nothing added to this brew to make it, except apple juice! So many of the so called ciders available locally are concoctions of all kinds of additives. Unfiltered, this stuff pours like an unfiltered wheat, swirling magic in the glass form the gunk on the bottom of the bottle, but not excessive. Iíve never had a cider before that had sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is tart and sour, from the time you pop the lid of the brown 22 oz bomber to the time it settles in the glass. I used a sniffer to drink this one. Wow, what a taste impact, simpler is better when it comes to ciders. Tart friendly sour apply palate. However, the 6% alky is readily apparent, I havenít really tasted a strong cider since jjpm74 sent me the Putney Mountain Scott Farm Spy that kicked my ass. The alky content however is not overwhelming and does not distract from the flavors, until that is, you start catching a buzz near the bottom of the bottle. Very enjoyable and very friendly, quite a taste experience. Sip after sip I am amazed about the simpleness of this brew, just plain great all round. The feel on the palate is tingly welcomed carbonation. The only thing that keeps me from giving this a 20/20 overall is the mild alky finish that is apparent after each sip. This session was simply a pleasure, I hope this becomes readily available in the Pittsburgh area. Donít gulp this down too quickly!
