COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Orchard Gate Gold is fermented naturally in small artisanal batches from a proprietary blend of organic apples grown here at our Koan Family Orchards in Michigan. We have produced hard ciders here since the 1860s. This is the same traditional recipe that helped save our farm during the great depression. There will be slight variations from batch to batch, just as nature makes no two apples alike! Enjoy our authentic hand bottled American Farmhouse "Scrumpy" Cider with family, friends & food.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark beige with a bit of foaminess on top. Aroma is rich apple and spices. Sweet apple flavor and just a touch sour. Notes of cinnamon present as well. Clean finish. One of my favorite ciders.

Gold pour, white head. Tart apples, honey, white grapes on the nose. Flavor is nice and apple laden, some honey, light yeasty notes.

Bomber pours hazy gold with almost no head. Aromas of green apples and some champagne aromas. Flavor is cloying sweet with a dry finish.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle into a brandy snifter. Appearance is copper with just a touch if carbonation fizz showing. Looks like there are particles of apple floating in there...at least that’s what I’m telling myself it is. Aroma is very wassail-y. Spicy, red and delicious sweetness, and right on the verge of being tart. Taste is almost cloying, but just doesn’t quite make it there. Nice sipping cider.

Pours like a pale apple cider, plain aroma of apples, slight vinegar aroma as well. Taste of sweet apples, pretty simple, just nice and refreshing.

This truly amazing cider, the only American cider made from just apples. Every other cider is made from concentrate. Scrumpy’s is made from fermented apples natural yeast fermentation. Great flavor a little on the sweet side but better than overly dry.

This is a nice alternative to the usual bad cider one gets at the grocery store, or at least my wife thinks so. The aroma has sour apple and a note that is much more plastic, but at least with the provenance I can assume that this is just the complexity of the apple rather than actual plastic. Taste-wise it is better, with a rounded apple flavor and nothing off-putting. Moderate acidity. Bottle.

22oz bottle thanks to blutt59. Clear golden pour with no head. Aroma is overly sweet with crisp apple. Syrupy and sweet, very much like apple juice.

Pours a bubbly yellow body that looks a lot like champagne. The aromas are sweet and very apple-ey. WOW! The apple flavor from this is so sugary sweet, and lightly tart it reminds me of a good cobbler. Nothing really complex here, just the fine delicacy of a quality hard cider.
