Orchard Gate Gold is fermented naturally in small artisanal batches from a proprietary blend of organic apples grown here at our Koan Family Orchards in Michigan. We have produced hard ciders here since the 1860s. This is the same traditional recipe that helped save our farm during the great depression. There will be slight variations from batch to batch, just as nature makes no two apples alike! Enjoy our authentic hand bottled American Farmhouse "Scrumpy" Cider with family, friends & food.

Wow! One of the best ciderís Iíve had yet! Aroma was big and bursting with fresh red apples. Pour was a nice light gold with plenty of rising bubbles. Taste was delicious. Big apple flavors with just a hint of must..Light carbonation and deliciously sweet and sticky apple finish. Not enough can be said about this cider!

Bottle, shared at the lake. Hazy medium gold, medium carbonation. Big sweet apple character, a bit musty, but very sweet. Pretty simple really, and too sweet for my preference.

660ml bottle - shared by Elvira - thanks!
Lovely sweet fruity apple aroma, really juicy. Rich orange for a cider, cloudy. Mega sweet palate, actually sugary. But tons of apple too. Pleasantly carbonated, but that canít save the palate from being stickily sweet. Only a tonne of ice can fix that problem, alas. Pleasant, once youíre past the sugar rush. So sweet it reminds me of non-rateable nordic macro alko-pop ciders. However, even those have remembered to include some sharpness to the mix. In fact thereís no evidence of yeast being involved with this alcoholic apple juice at all. Another notch in the "Americans havenít got a fucking clue how to make [style X]" post for X=scrumpy. Nice cider, with ice cubes for drinkability, but please donít pretend itís something which it isnít.

Runs as a nice solid golden opaque from being unfiltered - Little fizz - Runs like an English cider but a lot sweeter however it has a Normandy after taste :)

Aroma of sour yeast and rotten apples. Not a great cider, funky muddled flavour - not fresh.

Tap at Marciero. Cloudy orange-gold with lace. Warm apple nose, almost baked. Lightly acidic. Rather sweet and fruity but with a good acidic balance. Great.

This pours a murky golden yellow color with a slight bit of carbonation. The aroma is that of fermented apple cider. The taste is sweet, easy with hints of cinnamon and caramel. Sweet and juicy but not as BIG and SWEET as other ciders like Angry Orchard. Worth trying if they sell this in your neck of the woods.

22oz in Seattle. Darker clear orange. Somewhat funky and earthy aroma. Juicy red apple with a lot of sweetness. Some tart apple finish. Nice enough.

22 oz bottle from the Beer Authority.

Deep golden pour. Strong apple nose with almost a pie spice thing going on, flavor is intensely sweet, red apple, caramel. Entirely drinkable but definitely on the juice side, sweeter than Iíd like. Limited carbonation further contributes to that impression.

Bottle. 11/8/14. Pours translucent straw with a thin, barely-there white head. Aroma is apples galore, sweet, cider. Taste is really nice; apples for days, subtle hint of funk and sour, some caramel and toffee, hint of spice, touch of syrup; otherwise, apples all day, every day. Mouth feel is oily, medium-full and rich. Medium-low carbonation. Light lacing. No discernible alcohol. Really quite tasty.
