3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The blonde session ale by De Kroon, since 2013, tasted on tap at the brewery. Off-white, sticky, very stable head, colour a misty ochre blonde. Sweet fruity aroma, apple, apricot, rosemary, honey, vanilla, gingerbread. Soft fruitiness in the mouth, apple with citrus touch, refreshing, mellow breadiness in the middle with sweetish malts, light yeastiness, mild peppery and grassy finish. Originality clearly is not what is aimed at here, but I can very much appreciate the fact that this brewery, lead by a brewing professor, intends to brew its beers to technical perfection and subtlety - and this approach has worked very well in this one (and the others so far).

On tap at the brewpub. Light, soft wheat beer mouth feel. A pleasant little bitter twist in the tail. Very refreshing.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy golden with a lacy off white head. Aroma is banana, citrus fruits, belgian yeast and hay. Good session beer. Not too sweet, not too bitter.
