BakerBoy (1), St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada does not count Jun 6, 2007 Taste is a personal thing and Jockey Club is one of my favourite beer. I really like this beer. It’s one I can drink all night. Geth_in_beer (598), Nova Scotia, Canada Sep 16, 2006 From bottle in a pub on Gerge St, St Johns. Attracted to this beer by the name and the label. The aroma reminds me of a lager. Clear, light yellow with a very thin head. Sweet and a little scenty in flavour, however got a bit watery. I actually thought this beer was drinkable, well maybe only one. Pleasnt beer I thought. jgb9348 (1793), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Oct 10, 2004 Crystal golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of malt, sugar and some cardboard. Light-bodied; Malty flavour with not much else. Overall, bland and horrible...funny name though! I sampled this 12 ounce bottle on 15-May-2004 at the May RB Party in Toronto, Ontario. JustinBathurst (119), Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada Oct 6, 2004 Maybe I’m going out on a limb, but I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone else does. The best part: poured a beautiful pearly froth of suds on top of a nice rusty gold water. Then the head vanished to a slight lace. I could see huge amounts of carbonation. This beer looks like the beer conjured up for most everyday folks when the word ’beer’ is spoken aloud.
Smells of hops, a light grassy aroma.
A crisp mouthfeel. Nothing to write up gloriously.
Tastes of a slight sweet malt, some lemon, some hoppy-round-bitter, but with the usual macro adjuncts. The worst: the aftertaste is not complimentary. It’s essentially morning mouth.
Very close to most macros, but marginally better because of the awesome appearance. Not as good as Black Horse in the drinkability department. beerhugger (541), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2004 You’re kidding right. Jockey’s - and everyone else - should stay away from this "Corn on the" club. Good as a wet liquid when the water needed refilling and between big beers - otherwise, you’re kidding right?
