berkshirejohn (1232), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jun 5, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Not like a typical hefeweizen in my opinion. Fairly traditional look with a hazy straw colour and a thin white head; but the aroma was of fresh citrus and grass; fruity and sweet in the mouth with a sharp grapefruit bitterness, with a really long finish. I ordered a Weissen and it was served in a Weissen glass, but seemd more like an IPA to me, and a good one at that.
ChristianScheffel (2331), Odense, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Muddy orange with a big white head. Deep classic yeasty aroma, with banana and clove Sweet and smooth yeasty flavour. mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 2, 2006 Draught. Hazy orange with a medium white creamy head. The aroma has oranges, sweet bananas, and cloves. Typical and A-OK! Creamy yeast palate - unfortunately it’s very watery. Starts with peppery spice and then waves of creamy banana. Soft carbonation. Refreshing but falls short on flavour.
Tried this at the brewpub (3.70€/50cl) in Hamburg on May 24, 2006. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia May 31, 2006 Draught at the brewpub: Hazy dark gold with a short but tight white head. Nice bubblegum and spice, with a touch of banana to back it up. Feels a bit soapy though, and thin. Still refreshing and drinkable. troyc (1046), Lubbock, Texas, USA May 30, 2006 (Tap) Pours hazy yellow with nice looking white head. Grainy taste, but not much of a fruity taste like most Hefeweizens. Mouthfeel was smooth, but slightly watery. Overall, a fair Hefeweizen.
