acrdz (4364), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 12, 2008 Updated: Apr 13, 2008Hand pull cask @ the brewery gets you a deep dark brown body with a wonderfully patterned brown whipped cream head complete with concentric foam circles of variable colors. Wonderful look to the beer before drinking, and just as nice during the drink, with rings of sticky, thick brown foam clinging to the sides of the glass. There’s a rich mocha and chocolate note to the nose, complex, enveloping, decadent, dessert-like, and the body is thick, creamy and rich, lacking any astringency, being very smooth and silky, tasting of mocha: milk, coffee, chocolate... damn good porter, and the body is especially thick for cask. A real surprise.
