Tap @ BBC in Hyannis: Clear golden amber color with a smallish head. This is drinkable, but not one of the best ESB’s I’ve had. There’s some light malt aroma to this. Taste has a little bit of malt to it, a tiny bit of nutty flavor, soap, and some mildly bitter hops towards the finish.

thin head. not really amber in color more like a dark gold. smell and taste of dirty dish towels with a huge ginger aftertaste.

Had this on tap. Has a clear amber color with moderate carbonation and a small white head. Smell is of light malts. Taste is slightly malted and has a nicely hopped finish. Overall an ok ESB, but nothing special.

This was a good ’un! Sort of fruity, with a chocolatey finish. Formed a nice head that stayed till the end. Suprisingly, for such a full flavored beer, it had very little aftertaste. Wish I had one right now!

Bottle read John Courage Amber. Decide to retry this and rate as my buds had a Yuegling and a Bass. A good description would be if you mixed those other two. Pretty good though after awhile it does finish bitterly.

Medium golden color. Faint malty aroma, has that classic lager air about it. Mildly bitter, hop character comes out in the aftertaste. Drinkable but has a grainy, slightly acidic taste that is too overwhelming.

Had an applely taste that I didn’t find disgusting but I didn’t like it enough to have a full pint. I’m surprised to see this classified as an ESB.

dark golden color, decent short white head. easy sweet malty nose, honey-ish? mildly sweet start - super faint banana taste. carbonation and extra mild hop eases in. balanced, aftertaste, watery finish.
