Fancy 1L bottle. Poured clear copper, with little if any head. Big bourbon flavor, along with wood and some caramel malt in the background. Flavor is again heavy on the bourbon, along with vanilla, wood, and malt. Overall, I think the bourbon is overdone, vut this is still mellow and drinkable.

a shared bottle at the CL RB gathering. Deep amber in color. Aroma: alot of bourbon, caramel, light vanilla. Taste is again- bourbon, not as much as the aroma led on though, smooth caramel, with a smooth finish with some vanilla notes.

Sampled on 2/3/07, bottle #35 thanks to goldtwins: Pours a mostly still copper mahogany with a thin ring of white head. Aroma of big bourbony oak and sweet caramel malt. Starts fairly full and caramely sweet with good bourbon balance toward a slightly drier German lager yeasty finish with some lingering earthy buttery oakiness. A pretty good brew.

#35 of 50, Courtesy of Goldtwins, taka. Deep red por with a fully diminshing head. Aroma is punishing, possibly the most bourbon I’ve encountered in a beer. Also notes of plums, grapes, sticky lightly toasted malts and moderate smoke. Flavor is more of the same, with additions of brown sugar and overripe fruit, like a fruit basket that’s been baking in the desert sun for hours. Finishes sweet and with teeming whisky. No real balance and an inadequate, thin mouthfeel.

1 L bottle 38/50. Poured a slightly hazed ruby color with a brown tint and a minimal head. The aroma had light notes of bourbon over doughy and grapey notes. Some raisins and peaty aspect as well. The flavor was sweet and fruity with some peaty character. More raisins. Meidum bodied.

Cask in Wayne, PA. Attractive, lightly hazy cherry body with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of bready, sweet German malt and light bourbon. Sweet and sticky flavor like stroopwafels. Sweet, decadent, and enjoyable, but also somewhat puerile and underattenuated. Good, but less than expected.

Malty roasted aroma with some sweet bourbon. Pours a nice amber color with a white head. Good lacing. Very sweet flavor with the bourbon present but not overwhelming. Finish was sweet.
