John Harvards Boysenberry

Sampled on draft at the Monroeville PA location this beer poured a red-amber color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was tart berry. The flavor was tart berry and honey with a light wheaty-grainy undertone. Long sweet berry finish.

Reddish brown color, slightly hazy. Sweet clean mild aroma. Nice hint of fruit on the plate but not overly sweet nor overly fruity. Above average for a fruit beer. Fun and friendly. Interestingly unique. Due to the uniqueness that makes it initially attractive, probably couldn’t be a session brew. Has a mild bitter nip on the finish that hangs for a while.
