John Harvards British Pale Mild

Sample at the Pittsburgh location. This beer is similar to Three Floyds Pride & Joy, just not as good. Clear golden color with virtually no head or lacing. Weak hops aroma, with a hint of malt. Light-bodied with subtle hoppiness that lives up (or down) to the title, along with a smattering of earthy malt flavor. The finish is pretty bland, and there is no real aftertaste. Didn’t do it for me.

OK, I’m not really sure what a ’Pale Mild’ is. This was lager clear gold, so I’m calling it a golden ale. Very muted aroma. Tangy, lightly sweet, medium woody light bittering. Lagery. Finish is initally lightly sweet, then bitters. Clean drinking. Mild lemony notes. Bland.
