John Harvards Double Trouble Bock

Springfield location: The alcohol flavor of this doppelbock dominates this bock. One dimensional beer I wish I was able to experience better versions past raters sampled.

Really light, sweet malty aroma. Clear dark burnished copper with tan head that recedes quickly. Sweet caramel, mildly fruity. Thin but refreshing. On tap at TapNY festival.

(Draught) Pours an orange body and a medium, creamy, white head. Like a malt shake at Fuddruckers, this is a very flavourful beer. Don’t mistake my comments to mean complex but the bourbon malt flavour is pretty good!

Weak aroma of sweet caramel unleashing tired roastiness and sweet nuttiness...Earthiness joins the caramel on the palate and both shrug off the few hops...A nice bock, but nothing worthy of a pilgrimage...
