Firkin version at Barley’s 6th Annual Mini RAF (04/26/08): The beer is a mostly clear dark amber color with a medium thin beige head that dissipates steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of malt, nuts and caramel along with a touch of hops. The finish is malty with a light hops aftertaste. Fairly run-of-the-mill overall.

Draft at BMRAF 08. Poured hazy brown color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy caramel & sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.

Brown- apricot body. Sweet caramel and grapefruit nose. Flavors of citrus, lemon grass and "boiled hops" (boiled hops?? yep. can’t think of another way to explain it). Dry hopped finish.

Sampled on draft at the Monroeville PA location this beer poured a light ruby-mahogany color with a small khaki head. The aroma was sour, tangy, tart and bitter. The flavor was tart, tangy, almost vinegary and had an element reminiscent of windex. The finish was tart and bitter.

Taster on tap at brewpub. Cloudy brown with a small head. Smells and tastes sweet. Good balance with floral hops.
