notalush (2160), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Feb 1, 2008 Okay, so I’ve had many pints of this beer lately, so I figured I’d rate it - this brewer has been making some great stouts lately, and this is no exception - inky black, with an impressive head - nicely bitter, fresh coffee aroma (too many coffee beers smell like stale coffee - this does not) - lovely, creamy mouthfeel - nice balance of coffee bitterness and an almost milk chocolate sweetness - roasty, with a bit of tobacco-ish complexity way in the back - me likey. JoeMcPhee (4061), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jan 23, 2008 Dark brown-black beer with a thin white head. Aroma is quite chocolatey with a light coffeeish character. A bit of sweet toasty maltiness behind the coffee and chocolate. Brown sugar and a kiss of fruit as well. Flavour is sweet and toasty and comes across quite schwartzy. Quite a nice brew really.
