goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA Jun 23, 2008 growler thanks to jjpm74. Poured a hazed amber color with an off-white head. Very sweaty hop aroma. Decent caramel malt base. Malty flavor with light pine notes and a dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 20, 2008 Growler: Pours a slightly hazy copper with a thin ring of off-white head. Aroma of sweet toasty grainy malts and some earthy floral piny hops. Starts fairly full but without much carbonation and a semi-sweet caramel maltiness and big, bittering earthy hop character before a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. A good double IPA, but could use a touch more sweetness. kmweaver (2129), Sparks, Nevada, USA Jun 16, 2008 Growler, courtesy of jjpm74. Thanks, John! Pours a hazy, orange-amber color; off-white head with patchy fine-bubbled lacing. Very floral, chewy hoppiness in the aroma; quite soft, resiny, and intricate hoppiness; very nice nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, sticky-sweet hoppiness; very floral and earthy; some alcoholic warmth; chewy, dense stuff with the slightest astringency; solid double IPA. Lengthy, tongue-numbing finish: floral / earthy / mineral bitterness, quite nice, and some candy sugar sweetness beneath.
