COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A medium-bodied English style brown ale. A generous use of chocolate and crystal malts gives this brew a pleasant nutty falvor, balanced with the hop character of English Fuggles and Goldings. A classic!

On tap at the brewpub. Arrived at the table a mostly clear dark amber with a very thin tan head that was gone after the first two sips and left scant lace. Very light aroma of sweet malt. The flavor is malt with a touch of sweetness along with some nuttiness. Very nice smooth, well-rounded finish. Medium bodied. Solid beer.

Cask at the brewpub - fairly dry for a brown, which is a plus for me - the nutty sweetness is there, but is subordinate to tobacco leafiness, dry cocoa, roasty character - very smooth - a little caramel on the end - a good session ale from these guys.

Tap. Aroma of nuttiness, sweet roasted malt. Flavor really expands with more notes of leafy hops, lots of chocolate, gritty, roasted nuttiness. Roasty and silky at once. Great brown.

On tap at JH. Pours a dark amber with a thick light brown head. Aroma of sweet malt and light roast. Flavor of light malt sweetness with a roasty/smoky finish. Very smooth and tasty. Excellent beer from JH!
