Tap at JH - light bodied dark malt with bit of chocolate. Sweet finish. Touch vegetal. Smooth mouthfeel and nice carbonation.. Decent.

On tap at JH. Pours a cloudy brown with just a small ring of white head. Aroma of roasted malt and roasted nuts, slight coffee presence. Flavor is similar with nice coffee and roasted nuts. Much better than I expected. Itís just a touch sweeter than Iíd prefer, but I really donít see why this beer gets such poor ratings... 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Tap at JH. Really ugly porter, too translucent and oddly murky at the same time. Aroma is actually pretty nice though, coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, the stuff that should be there. Flavor is less impressive with and odd sweetness and an odd coffee-grind bitterness that do not blend well together. Not sure why they keep churning out such a mess of a porter.

On tap at the Lake Grove location. Pours cola colored with a thin off-white head that lasted through the furst quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very mild aroma of roasted malt and not much else. Thankfully, more flavorful than the aroma suggests with lightly roasted malt followed by some mild chocolate and tobacco. As the beer warmed, the tobacco flavor thankfully faded. Light bitterness at the finish.

Tap @ Lake Grove: Poured a very dark brown color with a small cream colored head. Roasted malt aroma with some fruitiness and coffee notes at the end. Roasted malt flavor. Some caramel notes mixed in. Coffee notes finish it again. Mildly bitter finish.

Chocolate ice cream aroma carries through to mildly raosty flavour. Brown, clear with light fully diminishing head. Thin body. On tap at TapNY festival.

(Draught) Pours a medium, biege head with a reddish body. Very faint roasted malt. Weak flavour where the roasted malt never breaks through. Thin and watery. Poor.
