2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA Feb 14, 2007 Hazy body with a light golden color. white, fizzy head that fully diminishes. Appearance is similar to that of grapefruit juice. Fair to no lacing. Aroma provides no distinguishable notes. Initial taste is acidic, moving to a sour finish with short duration. Light on the mouth, it has a watery texture and minimal carbonation. Not a good representation of the style, it gives little to the nose and even less to the palate. Not an enjoyable ale.
Reviewed on January 20th, 2007. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Jan 17, 2006 As much as I am loath to enter a new beer on the John Harvards page, this one does not seem close enough to any existing entry (I dont think it is the honey wheat).
Draught pitcher at the Cambridge location on 1/14/06. Cloudy, hay to pencil yellow, with some pale peach skin tints and a small but well-retained, creamy white head. No lacing. Aroma is heavily wheaty (light sourness), minimally yeasty, minimally malty (malted barley, that is) and has a bit of graininess to it, rather husky, contrasted to the creamy wheatiness. Flavor is moderately sour, lightly sweet, lightly yeasty, and there is a soapiness, which although not overt, is somewhat persistent on the end. Creamy wheat battles the large amount of water/malt ratio here, as usual for a brewpub wheat. Tart wheat notes begin to build up on the palate, with light acidity. Low to moderate carbonation. I wonder why they have a very low gravity American wheat on, in the middle of winter??
