COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
John Labatt Classic was introduced in 1983 as Canada’s only national domestic “premium beer”. It is Krausen-brewed (slow, low temperature with a secondary fermentation process) and has a longer cold-aging process. Classic uses all-malt and a unique blend of western-grown North American hops, providing a smooth, full flavour product with a true malt taste that is slightly sweet. Editor's Note: Is this only available in the US?

Pours a very clear, golden color with a thin white head and moderate carbonation. Aroma is a herbal and spicy hop aroma with a pils malt sweetness and not much else. Flavor is a mixture of light noble hops, sweet pils and some hints of lemon grass toward the end. I was expecting a very corny and grainy flavor but overall this wasn’t that bad for a pale lager. Light, crisp with some decent flavors making it a very drinkable beer for a style weighted down with crappiness.

11.5 oz bottle from Headbanger - thanks! Clear pale gold with a fizzy white head. Grainy and lightly floral nose, corny. Rather sweet grain flavors, a bit of grass. Disappears quick. Meh.

RSRIZZO (1634) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - APR 29, 2009
(Bottle courtesy of Headbanger) - Color is a bright gold with very good carbonation and a small white head. Aroma is a faint sweet grain and corn scent. Taste is light and crisp. Starting with a light body it goes down with an easy crisp feel. Finish is a very light malty taste then a hint of bitterness. After taste is clean and a little bland. Overall its not bad, just a common Pale Lager.

8-12-08. Bottle. Pours gold with a fizzy diminishing head. Smells of light malt. Tastes of some grain, malt, and slight hop bitterness. Very crisp beer, light fizzy body. Nice on a hot day.

(bottle - 340 ml) Clear gold color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is dry and grassy with some light hops and corn. Flavor begins with a light sweetness that gives way to a grassy and corny middle. Finishes dry and slightly metallic with some stale hops and hay. Watery.

Pours translucent golden color with small white head. Very faint aroma, mostly corn and grain. Sweet grain flavor not much else. Nice clean and smooth palate. Maybe I’m missing something but this just seems to be a small step above the rest of the macro pale lagers. Its flavor is similar, but it does have a nice smooth body without the bad aftertaste of some of the others.

11.5 oz bottle 2/6/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours a clear golden body with small white covering that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma of corn grains, and slight malt. Taste of sweetness, grass, and a little malt. This light bodied brew is not bad but like Cornfield would be great on a hot summer day. I suppose I was expecting a little more maybe because of it being named a classic. My bad.
