2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cloudstrife (54) - Rochester, New York, USA - NOV 30, 200812oz bottle poured into glass. Brownish red color with an off white head. When held up to light it is a deep red color. Malty smell with a hint of alcohol. Has a pretty sweet taste to it, not much hop taste, just a nibble at the end. Easy on the palate, could certainly tip back a few. Overall a good entry by Labatt.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 hopdog (7658) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 31, 2012
I think this rating goes here...11.5oz, ’limited edition’ bottling. Poured a golden/amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toasted grains, and some honey. Tastes follow.
2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 gsmitty80 (1593) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 26, 2012
This beer is not much of a bitey red just very light and thin like the rest in the sampler.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3989) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-brown color with a large foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tart, tangy and malty with an undertone of cherry soda. The flavor was tangy and malty with notes of caramel, cherry, raising and a hint of toasty malts. Medium length tangy malty and cherry finish. Medium body. Eh.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 altonbrownd (4210) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JUL 31, 2012
Bottle in West Long Branch, NJ. Nice amber body with medium head. Nose Is sweet, malty. Taste of rye, malts, some caramel. Crisp texture. Okay in the finish. Tad sweet but okay.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lightrider (184) - Bristol, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 29, 2012
Bottle into a Lager glass. Pour is a dark amber with a fine head. Taste is of co2 and malt, very little hop. Finish is a wash of co2, but crisp and clean.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 nike (746) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 29, 2012
Thanks to “cheap” dude for this one. I enjoy the Labatt’s brand; this one is typical, just a little on the lighter side. Light aroma, light bodied, drinkable, even light on the flavors, but a good brew to have more than one of during the summer.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jgb9348 (3970) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Crisp copper glow with a touch of a ruby (perhaps) tint and a relatively small one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pale malt, alcohol, earth and not much else. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic notes with some malt, earth, caramel and a strong deep spicey flavour that coats the palate. Aftertaste is deep and strong and not in a good way - the malt and metal are the strongest tastes with a touch of sugar making it palateable but the alcohol remains strong. Overall, not such a great beer - but that’s frankly what I expected - still a neat looking throwback bottle with some good memories of Canada. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-April-2012 for US$1.35 sampled at home in Washington on 31-May-2012.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TheOrange (479) - Kent, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2011
The last from the Labatt sampler pack.
The pour is more orange than red, the head is about a perfect finger though, with a orangeish tinge.
The aroma is sweet caramel malts, the beer is thinner then the Brown ale, but has more linger finish than I had expected.
The flavor is OK.
An overall OK beer.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 LinusStick (2618) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2011
A decent but standard American Dark Lager. My bottle says Labatt Brewers Collection Red Lager Limited Edition. I’ll do some digging later to see if this is a different beer (the bar code is different). Aroma was very malty and bready, with a stale lagerness to it. Pour was a nice clear dark amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was very malty and very basic. Slightly metallic with that same stale lager flavor that was in the aroma. Not terrible is the best I can say about this beer.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 kassner (1221) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2011
