1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 bigrond (1356) - factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 18, 2006
sleeman does it again. another poor representation in it’s class. It has almost a smoky flavor, and not a good one. for a canadion beer this is bad. I don’t reccomend you drink this unless your already drunk - at that point it won’t taste to bad.
1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 UnholyBrewing (591) - Central Florida(Upper Hell), Florida, USA - MAR 28, 2008
...wrong, wrong, wrong, poor porter. Not dark or thick enough, and no roasted chocolate porter flavor. Too light, and still proves canadians can’t brew beer right.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 ElJefe (553) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 26, 2006
I guess there is a first for everything: this was my first drain-pour porter. Dark brown with a tan head. Weird metallic. slightly sour aroma, somewhat medicinal. A bit of roasted coffee/chocolate in the flavor, but they are largely masked by a horrid metallic flavor folllowed by a strange sourness in the finish. Awful.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 DarkStar22769 (100) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 13, 2004
Who is responsible for this? What a poor showing for a "porter." Simply tastes like the regular Sleeman ale that’s been coloured brown. Avoid this product and search out the better porters available at the LCBO (not that there are many).

was hoping for more depth from such a nice-colored porter--but it just isn’t there. Thin, slightly astringent, disappointing. Don’t bother with this one.

Hugh creamy head that laces the glass.
Murky brown colour. The fun stops here.
Flavour of water and burnt coffee grounds.11.5 oz bottles. At least the brewer didn’t make me endure a whole 12 oz.bottle.Will save the rest of this 6-pk for pesky guests.108 year old

Rebellion lager to the states instead.

Well I didn’t expect much from this one, and it didnt deliver much either. Probably drinkable for those who like some bitterness but can’t take the alcohol. F... close to waer, too. Reminds me of a watery Budwiser.
