strangaj (215), West Chester, Ohio, USA Apr 11, 2007 Pours a clear copper color with white head. Aroma has the typical heavy hops appeal of IPAs. Taste has a bit more malt to it that I had anticipated. I think most IPA lovers would say that this beer is a little flat and without any distinct character. However I enjoyed the smooth and bland flavor accompanied with a medium body and could drink this one all night w/o complaint.
Butters (733), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jan 2, 2009 Clear bottle. Thank god it wasnt more skunky than it was. Pours clearish gold with small white head. Nose is devoid of hops or anything else for that matter. Malt, honey, vanilla, and hops join the party in the flavor, and it was just a little skunked. Musty dry finish without any hop bite. Perfectly boring in every way. nqualls (633), Tennessee, USA Oct 31, 2008 Bottle. Of all of the Sleeman beers, this is the least bad. Poured a clear orange with a two finger whitish head. Aroma of malt, pepper and some grassy hops. Flavor was sweet malt and a bitter finish. fonefan (6153), Ulfborg, Denmark Sep 29, 2008 Draught @ Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. Bedfordshire England S3 8GG.
Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, moderate hoppy, peppery. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, and a peppery finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (270708) pacaus (49), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 17, 2008 Its really hard to rate this beer because it did taste good, but tasted more like a lager than an IPA? I was kind of confused. As a lager I would rate it higher but as an IPA I probably should have rated it lower. I do not taste the hopiness that characterize a good IPA. gotohelunc (400), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 10, 2008 Bottle. Nearly odorless. Big foamy white head. Strange flavors for an IPA...kinda malty, sharp carbonation, strange bitter finish. I would never identify this as IPA, and I wouldn’t buy it again.
