Drunk from can at Danni's bar in Cale Millor, Mallorca. Refreshing bitter but nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Looks like beer should look like. It is smooth and slightly sweet for a ’bitter’. Also good value for money.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 0.5l can poured in a ordinary glass. Traditional English Bitter. Very creamy and dense head, low carbonation after all, and low ABV: 3.8% A: Huge milky head whenever poured, in fact, you cannot see the beer in the beginning, the foam retention is impressive (it lasts for long time): This Nitro device that comes in really seems to work. Beautiful dark-yellow-amber color in the end. Despite of the huge foam it reveals a very low carbonation in the end. S: Caramel and barley malt, basically. T: Strong malt taste followed by hops. Not bad. M: Very creamy. Low carbonation and very light bitter end. D: High. Light taste and ABV. Traditional British style. [ BA Review @ 2/26/2010 ]

Looks like a lava lamp with thick stout-like foam, clear brownish red nutty in colour. Tastes like a light stout, with a hop type I don’t really recognize in the aftertaste. Excellent everyday beer.

Pint in London. Fairly dark copper amber pour without much head. Aroma is primarily some mild caramel malt. Taste is a bit beady with a somewhat bitter finish. Popular but nothing to brag about flavour wise.

Cask in Cardiff. Starts off bitter and stays bitter. Nice tight head that left great lacing.

Canned as "John Smith’s Extra Smooth Ale", 440 mL / 14.9 oz, with a widget. Nose is sweet and fruity, clear ale yeast with sticky caramel/crystal. Pour perfectly fits my pint glass (?), transparent but deep dark copper with a still but dense beige head. Watery body seems more fullish at times, cloying with sticky caramel and faint roast, almost achieves a Munich-y character, with obvious added sugar and full-on overripe fruit. Extra-smooth indeed, with the nitrogen, and very easily downed, though I’d prefer if the sticky candy character weren’t emphasized into childish territories. Relatively clean, touch of apple, bit of bitterness hanging on the back end.

Kolor bursztynowy, klarowne. Piekna piana, azot zrobil swoje. W aromacie intensywne zelazo, lekka kanalizacja, lekka karmelowa slodycz, lekka nutka trawiasto-owocowego chmielu, ogolnie oprocz metalu, ktory uderza od samego poczatku, ciezko sie tam czegokolwiek doszukac. W smaku jest juz lepiej, nie ma kanalizacji, zelazo jest mniej intensywne, jest slodowosc, karmel, melanoidyny, lekka kwaskowosc, lekkie owocowe estry. W odczuciu polwytrawne, idealnie gladkie i aksamitne. Goryczka lekka, ale wyczuwalna, calkiem mocno lodygowa i sciagajaca, pozytywne zaskoczenie.
