2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nicko (191) - Ashfield, - NOV 8, 2009Bland, nondescript bitter with an appropriate name. Sweet bready aroma, a little granny smith apple taste. I’m a sucker for nitro-infused beers in the appearance stakes, but this is dull as.

500ml widget can bought at CitySuper in New Town Plaza, Shatin.
Clear deep amber colour; Two finger head with creamy and long-lasting off-white foam; Small sticky lacing with zero carbonation; Aroma of lager malt, honey, bread, yeast, light citrus and light grass; Very light sweet taste of light malt, with very light wet cardboard, light bread, light biscuits, low liquorices, very light citrus and grass; Mid to light body, oily palate; Taste profile is sluggish, really flat and light lager malt with some yeasty taste. No particular taste being stand out. Hoppiness is very light grassy nose, low and flat citrus and uninspiring bitterness. Low note of astringency for finish. Fairly dry after taste, quite easy and light bitter to mouth.
Comments: Quite typical Bitter style. Taste alright with nothing much standout. The widget-enhanced, Dry Stout-like creamy head doesn’t provide much inspiration for session tasting, as it’s intended for colossal quaffing in pubs and gatherings. Drinkable yet nothing special.

440ml can. Brown amber colour, frothy off-white head and aroma of malt mash, caramel. Taste is malt, grain, biscuit, fruity with an earthy metallic bitterness. Creamy mouth feel, light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry finish. OK.

Not a bad bitter, reanonably priced in cans, although I find the smooth way too smooth.

Creamy English bitter with a bitter caramel flavor. Nice poundable English pub ale.

A soft bitter with quite a light taste, cheap as chips and it shows in the lack of complexity of flavour. Drinkable but not a connoisseur’s dream by any means.

(Keg): Dark brown with a creamy white head. Barely any aroma but caught a bit of malt, that’s it. Taste was moderately malty, tiny bit of hops with not much else going on. Bland - but it’s drinkable in a pinch.

1 pint on tap @ George and Dragon. Pours clear amber with a medium creamy head. Aroma is weak malts. Flavor is malts with a hoppy finish. A bit too "smooth" for me.

Muy buena cerveza, casi que un postre, muy cremosa y facil de tomar, le pediría un poco más de alcohol para darle fuerza.

Metallic flavoured, mildy bitter, light on alcohol and goes down pretty smoothly. Not great, but an easy drink.
