2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bland, nondescript bitter with an appropriate name. Sweet bready aroma, a little granny smith apple taste. Iím a sucker for nitro-infused beers in the appearance stakes, but this is dull as.

Can, 50 cl. Overall smooth, almost no carbonation. Nice foam, bitter finish. Lack of interesting aroma.

Nothing special too say about it. No taste. But is smooth as it says and this is its best.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This beer seems to be drastically underrated by ratebeer. Okay, itís not super by any means. Very little aroma, quite bland to taste with a slight bitter overtone. But very drinkable. Iíd probably stop at 1 because I was thoroughly bored by the end of it. But 13/100 is an incredibly inaccurate rating. 30-35 is probably closer the mark.
To give you an example of why its underrated, I put this beer in a similar taste/likability rating as London Pride, but (at the time of this post) this site rates London Pride 84/100 and John Smiths at a drastically lower 13/100 for this. London Pride is a touch better, but no way is it 71 points better. Iíd find it hard to rate London Pride over 40 hence why I say I rate them quite similarly.

3/20/2011. On tap. Light amber with a creamy head. Malty caramel aromas. Similar flavors, but watered down. If you never get to taste this one, youíre not missing out.

When I mentioned that I used to love this beer to one of the 10K+ raters - I got weird looks and I was told to never to mention it again. Anyways, I loved it - it was cheapest available, creamy and smooth as Beamish Red, easy going and fulfilling. Good with roasted lamb and curry. Could drink it all evening and chat bs with locals. Miss it a lot. Can is thinner, but you can always take it with you back home.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours with a huge head due to the nitrogen ball, looks really good though! Sweet malty smell, creamy head...very very smooth beer...taste is mild malt, no hops... Thicker mouthfeel but very light on flavor

1.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
On keg at Seaton Hotel, Seaton Carew. Popped in this pub for a pee so decided to buy a drink and this was my choice....pours amber which takes an age to settle due to the nitro. Tastes of very cold water with a sharp bitter end. Virtually undrinkable, itís been a while since Iíve had one of these but it did used to have some sort of taste....

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Faux amber looking, velvety pour. Creamy head. Nitrogen, some maltiness, biscuit. It tastes a little coppery and not much else. Inoffensive.
