Muy buena cerveza, casi que un postre, muy cremosa y facil de tomar, le pediría un poco más de alcohol para darle fuerza.

Its unavoidable if you go out drinking in non real ale pubs at some point you will be stuck with a choice of guinness ager or john smiths lokks good in the glass and they tend to slip down in 3 sips overly seeet and overly carbonated

Aroma I found not very distinctive, perhaps a hint of coffee but to be honest, hard to tell! Appearance very typical of a cheap bitter, dark brown with a creamy head. Taste not unpleasant, not a lot of flavour but a hint of bitterness, plus point, it makes a very refreshing drink that doesn’t sit too heavy and it’s lower alcohol percentage means one or two more won’t make to much of a difference. Palate very plain, little aftertaste, with an average body and texture. So, it makes a refreshing drink, but if it’s flavour you’re after, you’re far from it with John Smith’s!

440ml widget can (4 pack). Poured into a Strassburg glass. Appearance is terrific. Similar lava effect to Guinness and other beers which are carbonated via nitrogen widgets in their cans. Unfortunately that is where the fun ends. Nose is weak - nothing bad, nothing good either and simply hard to obtain any real aroma. Taste - watery, and very little flavour - similar to the aroma - that is: hard to get much taste out of it at all. I had been told this was unlively, but I thought that they meant carbonation adndnot taste. I’ve had hand pumped beer and low carbonation before, but this seemed flat. If it had more flavour this might have been salvageable. Not to my taste - flat aroma, flat taste, flat patate, flat carbonation. Flat, flat, flat! So disappointing really after the appearance showed so much promise. If you enjoy this beer - good for you - but I suspect the majority will be disappointed.

Ambar clara, espuma blanca. Aroma escaso, tostado y dulce. En boca es completamente aguada, con sabor malteado tostado y mínimo amargor. Floja.

Keg at The Big Jug, Durham, £3/pint. Bought because there was no cask ale on. I haven’t felt the need to drink a John Smith’s in years and this one isn’t likely to change that. No real nose, boiled hop flavour, slightly sickly finish, watery mouthfeel, very bland beer flavoured water.

On tap on a local pub of Bermondsey, London - UK. Color: clear brown beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: caramel malt and nothing more even if a metallic nose as finish. Taste: watery, metallic, caramel and high bitter almost from the metal and few by the hops. Aftertaste: caramel and bitterness. Very bad beer.

Bottle from Seoul Plaza, kindly shared by Gurthnar, many thanks. Amber color with huge white head. Caramel malt, diacetyl in aroma. Caramel, roasted malt, diacetyl, harsh bitterness in taste. Bad.

Can from Seoul Plaza. Nice lava effect. Clear brown colour, stable smooth head. Aroma roasted, raw grainy, metallic. Taste is plain, malty, raw grain, light coffee, light metallic. Okay. No star though.
