gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 12, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy yellowish orange with a massive, billowing thick head. Strong lacing. Very unusual yeasty lemons flavors and nose. I can tell this beer’s really well made, it’s wonderfully smooth and full of unique flavors, and I’m pretty sure it tastes exactly like what the brewer wanted it to taste like. Unfortunately, I don’t much like this flavor. There are some of those funky farmhouse, barnyard flavors that I typically like, but something about this just rubs me a little bit the wrong way. Eh, maybe it’s just this time....interesting enough that I may try it again. kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 10, 2008 75cl bottle from Knightly Spirits (Orlando, FL). Pours a murky caramel golden with bright white foamy head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is floral with spicy, hoppy, and yeasty notes. Flavor is interesting: citrus notes combined with yeast, bread, banana, pear, spice and a tartness. Generally light to medium body with a tangy, tart finish. Complex ale. stouby (1931), Holbaek, Denmark Sep 9, 2008 Bottle at Havnens Vin, Vejle.
Hazy orange with a white head. Aroma moderate malty (caramel, coriander, citrus), light hoppy and yeasty. Flavor moderate sweet, light bitter/acidic. Light body. Theis (3617), Denmark Sep 5, 2008 Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Cloudy golden - white head. Light malty, pilsner malts, fruity, citrus, light spidersweb, light farmhouse, yeasty, spicy, apples, dryness, light tarness, acid, light light sourness... OK. level4 (24), New Jersey, USA Sep 3, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours hazy light copper with a large white head. Not as funky as it smells but nice farmhouse taste with many spices and citrus tones. Easy to drink. Nice beer. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Aug 24, 2008 This poured hazy and light golden in color with a tall fluffy white head that faded gradually. The aromas were of lemon rind, grapefruit, yeast and spice. In the mouth it is light-bodied with lots of carbonation and tartness. The finish turns dry and maintains the bitter tartness from the front of the palate. Quite refreshing if not fairly simple (and given the price I hoped for more). DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Aug 22, 2008 (Bottle). Fruity aroma. Light golden with large white head. Very acidic fruit flavor, high in carbonation. Refreshing. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. High fluffy but long lasting white head. Slightly hazy light yellow body. Spicy and malty aroma that I cannot quire figure out. Coriander, nutmeg, lemon flavor with a dry hoppiness. Low carbonation and a long spicy aftertaste.
