This delicious farmhouse ale is named for our Jack Russell, who struck by a car, bounced back in fine tenacious Jack Russell fashion, and is brewed for those of us who knocked down, have picked up, dusted off and carried on undaunted. Golden, naturally cloudy, bottle conditioned and dry hopped for a perfectly refreshing balance of spicy malts, hops and yeast. Please enjoy our beers in good health, And look both ways when crossing the street!

Bottle. Hazy golden in color with a white foamy head. Lemon, green herbal notes, bit of spicyness and funkyness in aroma. Nice. Good drinkability. Part lemon, part apple tastewise. Sour and tart finish. Crisp, good tasting with malty and green bitter notes in finish. Truly refreshing, and this was something I was looking for after the todays work outside.

This is a nice saison w/ a great nose. Carefully poured off the lees, this is quite clear in the glass and orange in color w/ a fine bubbled white head. It has a great, bright, fruity brett character in the nose--pinapple w/ a touch of lavender and sweet orange zest. It is very dry which seems to emphasize a touch of tartness and further brings out some fresh lemon notes. This is funky and complex w/o having some of the harsher phenolic notes wild beers can have. It is medium bodied but spritzy carbonation keeps it crisp and drinkable. There is not much more to ask for in a saison if you ask me.

Bottle. Beermoth, Manchester. Hazy gold. Steady stream of fine bubbles. Thick, fairly dense, lasting, white head. Funky. Grainy. Lemon pith. A light woodiness. Missus gets Lemon Verbena herb. Taste is mostly dry, with a little sweet lemon. Crisp, cleansing palate. Light bodied, but not thin. Finish is crisp dry, with a pleasing, spicy, tartness. Very drinkable.

Cloudy light gold, thin white head. Nose is spice, citrus, and funky yeast. Sour bitter. Middle is light grain, yeast, cardamon, slight hint of clove. Finish is dry and refreshing. Will try this one again, I think I am missing something.

One of my favorite beers. Sour and absolutely delicious. Sometimes pours foamy depending on age. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Nose is funky and a little sour. Strawberry sherbet, floral, slightly herbal, straw, yeast, barnyard, hint of lemon, wet grass, apple, emerging horse blanket - magnificent. Taste is green apple, straw, lemon, yeast leading to spice and cloves. Warm funk notes, wheat, white grape, lime, oak, leaf, slight chardonnay, lead to an exceptionally dry finish. Mouthfeel is thick. This is unexpectedly one of the nicest beers I have ever drunk. Itís got exceptional depth for the strength, but is, because itís so dry, very very drinkable. Itís the perfect beer for the table on a warm summers day, beautiful.

Tart, bordering on sour beer, but not quite sour beer. Would be refreshing in the summer.

Bottle: Review of a bottle from October 2010, drank at just over 3 years old. Always love this beer, but this is the best bottle Iíve had. Beautiful golden-amber color, bright with a mild chill haze that subsides after a few minutes. Volatile, chunky, off-white head leaves lots of chunky lacing all around. Aroma has a nice funky-tartness combo right out of the gate. Damp hay, wet cork, barnyard mustiness, bready yeast, straw, a very mild floral hop kiss, green apple skins, white grape, moderately under-ripe & acidic stone fruits, lemon, faint orange zest, moldy wood, & a slight touch of yeast induced spice. Wow. LOTS going on for a beer under 5% ABV. Flavor is no different. Tart Granny Smith apples up front with a solid base of cracker, biscuit, & straw from the malt. Lots of damp, funky wood & souring critters, very "signature" to JPís terroir. Lovely yeast profile with mild spice, bread, & a nice offsetting stone fruit, lemony tartness. So refreshing, finishing dry as hell with tons of oak. Some bottles are more funky than others. Some are more sour. Usually draught is a bit more mild. But this beer always delivers. Never been let down. Underrated, overlooked. Beautiful saison.

Pours cloudy straw with a huge three plus fingers of pillowy white head, great retention and heavy chunky lacing. (4/5) Nose is largely dominated by brett funk, with some stone fruit, lemon and grass, pale malt and pineapple. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, bitter, tart, and funk. (8/10) Light body, fizzy carbonation, dry funky finish. (4/5) The brett developed in the bottle aging has added a nice complexity to a bright and citrusy saison (while making this thing almost impossible to pour!). Lots of horseblankety character on the nose, but the tongue is still dominated by a lemony tartness. (15/20)
