fiver29 (703), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jun 9, 2008 Bottle pours straw yellow with a white head. Has sour lemon like smells coming from the glass. Has a medium-light mouthfeel. Has a sour taste that follows the nose. Is more sour than saison. Overall a good brew. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 6, 2008 Bottle courtesy of fiver29 and BR007. Pours a hazy honey gold with a one finger snow white head. Nose is sour lemon and some Belgian yeast. Palate is sour lemons, aspirin and a touch of spice. It’s missing that coriander/clove taste, which is fine by me. This is more like a mellow sour in my opinion. I like it! Thanks Brian and John! BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 5, 2008 Cloudy straw yellow with a HUGE dense white head that leaves lace sticking to the inside of the glass. Aroma is sour apple jolly rancher, biscuit and a ton of funk. Sour and citrus...suck on a lemon wedge, bite into a grapefruit rind, add some orange zest. Interesting and flavorful but not a flavor I typically enjoy. MatSciGuy (629), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Jun 4, 2008 [Bottle] Pours a hazy straw gold with a large, rocky, off white head. Aroma is tart apples, yeasty funk, and a little bit of hops. Flavor is quite sour and a little fruity. Light and effervescent in the mouth. Very crisp and slightly dry finish. Just a little bitterness coming through on the end. wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Jun 3, 2008 Thanks to Ken for this one. Hazy hay colored gold body. Aroma is light, biscuit, honey, and barnyard. Flavor is bitter and honey. SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 3, 2008 12 oz. bottle - thanks to drewbeerme for the trade; pale yellow with slight haze and minor carbonation; huge white head that could be scooped out with a spoon; lots of lacing as it takes a bit to settle; aroma mix of lemons, yeast and some flowery funk; rich and smooth with minor sourness and spice; has a nice lemon zest and zing to it; very nice Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA May 27, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of mreusch. Pours a cloudy amber-orange with a dense, white, meringue-like head. The nose is a pleasant blend of lightly funky Belgian yeast, citrus and a light fruity spice. Light-bodied and thin with creamy-soft carbonation and a short, lightly dry finish. Lightly spicy and musty Belgian yeast over tart citrus ending with in a quick, dry finish; a soft and enjoyable saison. Thanks again for the bottle, Matt. hogan873 (317), Joliet, Illinois, USA May 26, 2008 Pours a cloudy straw color with a huge white foamy head that never really goes down. Sour, yeasty aroma with definite notes of grapefruit and spice. A lot of carbonation on the palate. Flavor is good. Much like the aroma, sour and yeasty. Grapefruit and sour apple. The aftertaste is a bit chalky and sticky. Pretty good beer, though.
