Apr 1, 2008 Bottle. Poured a golden yellow with a thick, creamy white head that persisted. Aroma and taste of lambic funk, lemon, spices. I think this was the perfect blend of sweet lemon and sour lambic funk. I haven’t had many saisons before so I don’t have much to compare this to, but I think this is an excellent beer! Very underrated.

Apr 1, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours hazy orange with soapy white head. Looks like alca-seltzers in the glass at first because the carbonation is so violent. Floral nose, dry hops. Mouth is floral and citrus (spice and orange peel), some suggestions of lemon as well. Very nice. My dad said it tastes like ass sweat and opened up a coors so i killed the whole bottle, no problem. what a nancy

Apr 1, 2008 Courtesy of Fonefan. Hazy golden with a rapidly growing head, that is kept alive by and endless source of new bubbles. The aroma is sharp and sour with yeasty, citrussy barnyard notes. The flavour is sharp with sour, tart citrus, yeast, barnyard and apricot notes. IMO not very harmonic and too tart and sharp.

Mar 31, 2008 12oz bottle from Drewbeerme. Pours a cloudy light orange color with a fizzy white head that fades quick and leaves very little lace. Smells citrusy, oranges, and yeasty. Tastes of citrus and peach, also some grainy and malty flavors. Watery mouthfeel, full, vibrant, roiling carbonation.

Mar 31, 2008 Bottle at Extreme Beerfest 2008 (Crescent Moon): Very light in appearance. Dry toothpaste flavor...not the gel stuff, but the old-school paste. Couldn’t get over this, so the review doesn’t go any farther. Maybe will re-rate at later date.

Mar 31, 2008 Bottle: Poured a golden yellow with a nice amount of head. The aroma was somewhat peppery, yeasty and hoppy. The flavor was delicious with some sweet citrus and earthy tones. Overall, an excellent brew from this new found (to me) brewery. Can’t wait to try more from Jolly Pumpkin.

Mar 30, 2008 12oz. bottle, somewhere beyond a year old, and can’t believe I’m finally getting around to rating this. Pour is a cloudy light golden and hugely effervescent, with a giant towering bright white bubbly head that seemingly lasts forever, and leaves large clumps of sticky lace. I got a bit carried away on the third pour as I waited for the head to subside and overdid it - there was a good 1.5" or so of head well above the rim of the glass and no overflow! Aroma is funky, with spice, citrus fruits and earthy yeast. Flavor follows the aroma in good form, with more funk, light citrus and gentle spice. Very enjoyable and a nice intro to the world of Jolly Pumpkin!

Mar 30, 2008 Hazy deep gold with big white head. Spicy hoppy nose, watch the head, can come up and bite you when taking a whiff. Flavor has all sorts of spice with a bite from the hops. Has a little sourness to it, which makes it very interesting. I really can’t belive all the carbination this thing has. Nice finish that keeps you thinking of all the spice.
