Sep 13, 2009 From a 750ml bottle into my snifter. Pours a hazy golden... great color. Tons of head that stays around for a good 5-10 minutes and leaves clumps around the glass. Smells like champagne and light yeast. Taste is of pepper and funk. Lots of bite but a little bit mediciney for my taste. The other issue is the carbonation. It’s way too carbonated to drink right away. Still, it’s a good saison with some very deep flavors.

Sep 12, 2009 Full, fun, foamy white head first out of the bottle. Smooth, authentically sincere. Citrus and straw overtones, but then bitter. Beautiful looking with lively but not fizzy carbonation.

Sep 10, 2009 750 ml bottle. A hazy medium golden beer with a huge, frothy, mostly lasting white head. The aroma is lightly malty, with a good hoppiness and yeastiness. There are many citric notes (lemon above all, but also grapefruit), plus orange, spices (clove), and flowers. The flavour is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Very fruity and tart. Balanced too. Medium body at best, lively/fizzy carbonation, quite long finish with medium bitterness. Very lemony and acidic, very refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day.

Sep 8, 2009 Hazy yellow pour. Smells sour. Farmhouse funk alert. Not a lot of pumpkin like I expected. Tastes clean. Yeasty, spicy hops, wine like fruit flavors. Italian Pinot Grigio or Orvieto flavors. Good stuff.

Sep 8, 2009 12oz sampled at Butters’ 1500 / MmmcKay’s 200 tasting. Pours a semi hazy gold with great white head. Nose of classic saison funk. Flavor is clean and crisp but lemon sol. Very good for style.

Sep 7, 2009 750ml Batch 280/281 from theisti. Aroma is heavy brett funk, some earth, clove and peppery lemon zest. Taste is the brett and tart sourness upfront fading to just a superb meld of citrus, peppery spice and a nice hoppiness leading to a dry finish. Flavors are more earthy/woodsy as it warms, and all around just a fantastically constructed beer. This 750 didn’t last long and I was wishing I had another. Awesome stuff. Thanks, Tim.
