App.: Surprisingly clear, bright golden with a diminishing white froth.
Aroma: Huge amounts of citrus, organic acids, funk and very bitter greens, some light apple-like fruitiness, a hit of yeast, a little cheese.
Palate: Medium-light body, plentiful but soft effervescence.
Flav.: Light citrus, a touch of wood, a bit of that apple fruitiness, the bitter greens and organic acids are pleasantly subdued; a little tart and bitter to finish, with a faint citrus aftertaste.
I’m not a fan of Jack Russells, but I like their beer. bitbucket (2030), Kirkland, Washington, USA

Spicy lemon and biscuit aroma. Light body and moderate carbonation. Peachy taste. Spicy, funky semi-dry finish with a bit of medicinal aftertaste that kinda messes with an otherwise tasty beer. Tastes a bit like old oranges, pineapple, and sweet pickles. Lots of odd flavors going on, lots of funk. Very carbonated. I just don’t know what to think of this one. One glass would have been plenty but I’m left with a large bottle. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Complete with J.P.’s trademark 5 minute gush. After things settled down there was a frothy foam left atop a very cloudy brown orange body. The aroma is earthy funk and moldy orange peels with hints of sweet clementine oranges. The flavor has that same dirty orange peel taste followed by just enough citrus to balance out the finish. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Spicy citrus and pineapple aroma. Light golden orange colors with a bubbly rich white frothy head. Flavors of light citrus and spiced pickle juice. Slight gueuze qualities. Decently rich palate, slightly creamy, light fruity bitter duration. Overall this is a light and enjoyable although not outstanding saison. kseecs16 (873), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 23, 2007 Bottle at the Beer Bistro in Toronto. A funky spicy smell accompanies this hazy straw colored beer. An odd almost manurelike scent comes off this one as it warms but is surprisingly inoffensive. Very foamy head that laces the glass tremendously. A touch spicy with a tart citrus bitterness. Light and effervescent on the tongue.
