alexanderj (2212), Chino Hills, California, USA Nov 9, 2007 Bottle; poured a yellow with a large frothy white head. Aroma of yeast, apple, must and bread. Surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. Flavors weren’t amazing, but they all came together well. Flavors of apple, yeast, banana, spice and citrus. Palate was as expected. Good for the style. milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Nov 4, 2007 A very fruity, crisp ale. Spicy with citrus and oak in both the nose and palate. A good beer from a fine brewery. chicagobears (336), Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA Nov 2, 2007 Pours a cloudy yellow with a frothy white head. Has a authentic dusty farmhouse aroma. Taste is sour fruity, spicy and funky. Too much bubblegum for my liking. Still has enough going on (lemon zest and coriander) for me to enjoy this. Finishes dry and watery. masonjer (557), Holt, Michigan, USA Nov 2, 2007 Wow, this beer surprised me. Somehow, living in michigan, I had only had a sample of this a long time ago. Glad I picked some up. This is a gateway beer into funky goodness. Just a touch. Poured a yellow/golden color with a nice white head. Diminished and then a thin layer lasted. Aroma is a little bready with a hint of sour. Taste is some grapefruit, touch of barnyard funk, bit of hops. Very rounded and nice. A joy to drink. I am not exactly sure why, but I loved this beer. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Oct 31, 2007 Single 12 oz. bottle from Broudy’s at Jacksonville Beach. Pours a murky gold color with a lot of white head that lasts. Aroma is slightly sour and a bit of yeast. Taste is tart with what seems like grapefruit and a touch of sourness. Not too bad. DeadGuyFrank (347), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Oct 28, 2007 Updated: Nov 17, 2007My palate does not agree with this brew. Dry and very sour, hazy gold. Lots of grapefruit in the palate and nose. Wish it had more hop spice, but that is just be my palate talking.... cmillward (418), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 27, 2007 Bottle. Poured hazy gold, fluffy head with nice lacing. Grapefruit and sour, but drinkable and dry. Taste opened up as it sat longer. I love both saisons and JP. This is a great beer. eboats (887), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Oct 26, 2007 Bottled. Poured cloudy yellow with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma had the classic sour JP smell I have come to know. Wheaty, banana, some lambic notes, and a slightly sour bitter dry cobweb in the aroma as well. Tastes like you are drinking a haystack on a farm while inside a barn. Very barnyard esque.
