mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 25, 2007 12oz Bottle. Nice cloudy yellow color, big huge rocky white foam, unbelievable lacing, unreal retention. Aroma it slightly citric, with noticeable brett influence, very nice maltiness showing also. Flavor is very Orval-like, lots of peppery goodness, very dry finish, good bit of tartness. Fantastic palate, very hard to believe this clocks in under 5%abv. Simply world class. robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Sep 24, 2007 Updated: Nov 26, 2007330ml bottle.
nice golden straw color. HUGE white head, wicked lacing on my glass. Aroma is sooooooooo nice. Big peppery notes. Lots of apples, and plums, and some citrus, coupled with that great saison pepperiness is outstanding! Flavour is so complex. Slight tartness reminds me of a lambic, but its so smooth. Great fruit, and peppery notes. Lots of sour hops. Wow, just a wicked saison. One of my new favorites for the style. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 23, 2007 Bottle... Poured a cloudy bright orange with a huge head formy like a fluffy cloud. Fruity, egg-like aroma. High carbonations with flavors that are reminiscent of a floral, fruity wine, as well as yeast, barley-malt and strong spices, very tart, sorta like a jolly rancher...pretty enjoyable. RichardGretton (3131), Leicestershire, England Sep 23, 2007 Bottle. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma and flavour is lightly sour and dry. Overall a reasonable beer. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Sep 21, 2007 Bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a big white head. Fruity and slightly tart citrus aroma. Sweet malty citrus flavor. Slightly tart citrus finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste. leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Sep 19, 2007 Bottle. Hazy gold with a big white head. Aromas are spicy and floral with bitter lemon. Flavours are bitter lemon with resinous, floral hops. Yeasty with a sour finish. A good brew. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Sep 19, 2007 Medium gold, aggressive carbonation. Aroma is faintly citric with a shot of sourness typical of the Jolly Pumpkin beers I’ve had. Flavor is dominated by sourness, some lemon and orange zest, and an herbal finish. Quite nice. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Sep 17, 2007 From the bottle (bonus from mreusch. thanks Matt!) Pours a hazy golden orange with full foamy head that hangs around a while. Earthy citrus aroma prominent. Bitter citrus flavor on first taste. Mellows a bit after a little warmth. Bitter finish. Not really my style, so probably won’t have again.
