radiomgb (1921), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 15, 2007 Golden-orange in colour, large fluffy white coloured head, excellent retention and lacing, carbonation tornado effect coming up from the bottom of the glass. The aroma is quite yeasty, lots of brett, lemon citrus, spice, oranges and peaches. The flavour is very bretty, lots of yeast and spice, musty, orange and lemon citrus zest, herbal. Dry mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes long, excellent bitterness, lots of citrus. This just blew me away. A brett lovers beer. This is what I picture Orval to be like if it were a Saison. Fantastic stuff.

buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Sep 11, 2007 Another thanks to mcbackus for sending this one my way. Pours a medium hazy golden with a large lasting head. Lots of floaties that finally sank to the bottom. It doesn’t look like yeast so i’m guessing it mihgt be some type of spice or zest. The aroma is massive. Spice, citrus, corriander, clove and bananna. Flavor is tart and dry. Pretty big hops, zest and spices. There is far too much going on with this beer for me to figure out. Very interesting stuff. Thanks Matt. BrewDad (2363), Olympia, Washington, USA Sep 10, 2007 12oz Bottle
A deep golden color a tad cloudy. A nice thick head. A strong citrus aroma with a light yeasty aroma also. Liked the light flavor this was fruity in flavor but light enough to drink over and over. A nice Saison. Guerde (696), Welcome, Minnesota, USA Sep 8, 2007 Updated: Jan 3, 2008(bottle, thanks olso2116) Pours a cloudy gold with a substantial white head that does not dissipate. Aroma is citrusy with some lemon and orange zest, coriander, and some yeast too. Taste is slight orange peel, with some spice, and is well balanced. The other JP beers that I’ve had have not been that good (maybe not a fan of the oak aging), but this one for sure has to be the best saison I’ve drank, and it’s very well done. OSLO (825), Perth, Australia Sep 8, 2007 [Bottle] Pours cloudy amber with a lingering white head. Aroma is orange, yeast, a little clove and coriander I think. Taste is largely the same with just a little bit of sour in there too. Good mouthfeel. Nice finish. I came into this pretty disappointed with the other JP beers I had tried, but this one definitely redeemed them. Beerlando (2286), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 7, 2007 Cloudy, golden amber body. Moderate, foamy white head. Small traces of random lacing are scattered about the glass. The aroma shows the signature Jolly Pumpkin funky farmhouse characteristics. I picked up funky, yeasty bread and citrus grove smells. The aroma is not so much direct citrus fruit, but more along the lines of a freshly blooming Florida orange grove in January. If you grew up in the Sunshine State, you know exactly what I mean. The flavor is of a muted, fruity background with funky, farmhouse yeast overtones. Lemon and orange meringue dance on the tongue in perfect harmony with the funky yeast. Medium body that is incredibly smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink. I’m really into this beer. minch25 (350), Columbus, Ohio, USA Sep 5, 2007 I’ve been meaning to try this for a while. Very refreshing and delicious. A nice whiff of brett, which is great to find in an american beer. What a way to celebrate Michigan getting beat by Appalachian State too. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2007 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy golden color with a large white head and a few dark particles floating throughout. The aroma was a pleasant mix of tangy, citrusy and yeasty elements with hint of of pear and apricot. The flavor was bitter, tart and a bit musty with a long tart finish.
