Commercial Description:
This delicious farmhouse ale is named for our Jack Russell, who struck by a car, bounced back in fine tenacious Jack Russell fashion, and is brewed for those of us who knocked down, have picked up, dusted off and carried on undaunted. Golden, naturally cloudy, bottle conditioned and dry hopped for a perfectly refreshing balance of spicy malts, hops and yeast. Please enjoy our beers in good health, And look both ways when crossing the street!

It may just be me, the style or a bad bottle. It smelled and tasted sour like watered down vinegar. Ist it supposed to be that way? I had a hard time tasting anything but the acidic tartness. It has high ratings and so that confuses me more.

12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy straw color, which a four finger head that dissipates to a lasting one finger height. Aroma was a bit funked, yeasty, slightly spiced, and lemon. Aroma was the same, but additional flavors of perfume, flowers, and soap. Bad bottle? I do not think so, I just did not like this one.

12 oz bottle: Clear amberish gold with a large rocky white head. Funky floral yeast aroma with hints of vinegar, oak, and spices. Very faint tartness and a soft mouth feel. Dusty yeast and some herbal notes; light bitterness with a hint of oak in the moderately dry finish.

Cloudy orange body with a finger high, white, sustained head. Aroma of fruit with smell of outdoors that I couldn’t pinpoint. Refreshing lemon flavor with light spice aftertaste. Really very nice, but this one bottle gave me a terrible stomach ache, making it hard for me to want to purchase again.

Bottle: Pours a cloudy yellow/orange with a hige white bubbly head. Aroma of green apple, peach and citrus. Flavor has a very light malt presence with plenty with the aformentioned fruit flavors with an additional slight pepperyness and a wonder ful llight sour tartness that completes this beer wonderfully.

12 oz bottle. I’ve never rated this? Well it has been my mothers milk this hot summer. Pours a hazy orange/amber color with a good sized head. Awesome nose musty barnyard with spice and sour citrus complex and delicious. Lightly tart flavors start orange lemon grassy yeasty and crisp. Its a little bit farmhouse saison and a little bit uncategorizable the way that Orval is. Delicious, I can’t get enough of it. Lately I’ve had some of these fresh and they are not nearly as funky and complex as those with a little age on them ... good but not as good. My favorite bottles of this have about 6 months on them, give them time and let the funk come forth.
