Commercial Description:
This delicious farmhouse ale is named for our Jack Russell, who struck by a car, bounced back in fine tenacious Jack Russell fashion, and is brewed for those of us who knocked down, have picked up, dusted off and carried on undaunted. Golden, naturally cloudy, bottle conditioned and dry hopped for a perfectly refreshing balance of spicy malts, hops and yeast. Please enjoy our beers in good health, And look both ways when crossing the street!

750. Pours a deep murky golden amber with a thick, moussy, fluffy white head. Clotty little white islands of denser foam floating around in the film. Sharp funky nose: barnyard, horeblanket, even a little poopy. Not sure how I should rate that. Fizzy but still soft attack, very pleasant and refreshing. Moderate and restrained mid-palate; body’s light, flavors of lemon and hay and corn nuts. Even a harsh little teeny tiny tang of resiny bitterness distantly in the finish. This is a clever little saison. As soon as I learn to love that smell o’ poop I’m-a be all over this one.

Pours a golden color with a nice frothy head that the last remnants of the bottle are now sitting upon. Smell is really funky. There is some spice, some yeast and just a hint of ass. Taste is bubbly carbonated and a good amount of funk/sourness. This is a easy drinker. It’s lacking some punch at the finish. Seems like it’s good upfront, then there’s nothing there to round it out and finish off. Good beer none the less.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a little lacing white head. Citric aromatic hops, has a feel of barnyard and slight perfumed. Very carbonated. Flavour is fruity citric, floral, soft maltiness beneath. Some of the citric notes disappear as the beer heats up Very strong bitterness in the finish. This doesn’t really match my taste buds.

12 oz bottle. Pours murky yellow with a smallish white head that quickly recedes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing. There’s lots of chunky yeasties.

The aroma is musty yeast, lemongrass a little vegetables and spices.

The flavor is earthy yeast and lingering grassy hops with a little pepper and fruits and some hard to identify off notes (charred plastic?). The mouthfeel is rather thin and watery.

Overall, this just does not do it for me. Definitely my least favorite from an interesting brewery.

Bottle. Pours murky gold wit some tiny yeast floaties. Musty, sour and spicy on the nose. I get cheese, bananas, new oak and grass. Bracingly dry with a hint of acidic sourness on the palate. Tart lemon zest, pineapply brett and yeast. Hugely drinkable Finishes quite dry.

Pours pretty light/golden, and form into a white head. Smell is sour fruits. Taste is sour up front and prickly, but very smooth on the finish and make it very drinkable.

Appearance: Pours a nearly clear, yellow body with a fizzy, white head. Smell: Meager maltiness with scents of must-ridden hay, dandelion petals, and a touch of coriander. Taste: Light malt sweetness and flavor with a nice amount of lemons and, to a lesser extent, bananas. Some Belgian-type spices thrown in. Both lightly bitter and sour on the lasting finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Moderate carbonation. Drinkability: A simple lil’ saison!

750ml bottle from Florian’s. Hazy light yellow body with a couple inches or so of rocky white head that dissipates slowly leaving a fair bit of lacing. Smells strongly fruity and spicy - very very good. Tastes sweet, fruity, pithy, and spicy, with strong citrus flavors. Lighter in body than many of the style, but it along with the fantastic flavor help make this among the most drinkable beers I’ve had. Very very good.
