| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2009 750 ml bottle. It poured a hazy golden liquid with a nice ice cream looking foam that left allot of lacing. The aroma was sour, yeasty with a hint of sweetness. The flavor was similar but it didn’t taste as sour as it smelled and the taste dissapeared to fast. However I liked this beer. My moms comment wasn’t as positive: "Smells like cow piss!" hirigalzkar (563), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 20, 2009 Bottle. Semi hazy golden. Big white creamy head. Subtile but complex beer. Aroma is sweet and fruity with a small sourness in the background. Citrus hops, wild strawberries, orange. Taste is sweet and sour. First sweet of berries, then sour of lemon. The aftertaste is very tart and hoppy. Perfect balance! Refreshing, easy to drink, yet complex. joet (1702), Fulton, California, USA

Perfect presentation golden with white foam, some grassy, heather with some barnyard aromas, lemon zest and mild piquancy, lightly sour. Refreshing, thirst quenching, light medium effervescent body. Wonderful stuff. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 12, 2009 My 700th rating and i am happy with this one. Hazy deep gold with big white head. Spicy hoppy nose, watch the head, can come up and bite you when taking a whiff. Flavor has all sorts of spice with a bite from the hops. Has a little sourness to it, which makes it very interesting. I really can’t belive all the carbination this thing has. Nice finish that keeps you thinking of all the spice otakuden (518), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2009 Bam Biere shines a hazy golden orange with soft touches of white to soften the glare. Puffy clouds hover above her golden depths below while streamers of lace tie them together. Like a comforting summer breeze, her nose wafts past me, carrying with her coriander and spice, pepper, ginger, grapefruit, orange, nectarines, and tangerines. Each aromatic embrace is wrapped in assertive tartness and sour zip. Hopelessly smitten, I dive into her liquid bounty where I am immediately embraced by her soft, effervescent body which is tart with the flavors of young grapefruit, oranges, and tangerines. Adding some pizzazz to the party, ginger, coriander, and pepper add a refreshing zest to each quaff which carries through the finish. Her palate slowly dries mine as more dry sourness pervades each thirst-quenching quaff while more grapefruit and pepper creep in afterwards. Her sour nature compliments her traditional Belgian-style saison character with masterful aplomb. None too quickly, my second glass empties and I am left wistfully pondering our time together. Playfully effervescent with an added punch of spice and citrus, Bam Biere is complimented by a clean palate exuding dry sour pleasures.
Once more Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales wins me over with their exceedingly sour Belgian-style Saison, Bam Biere. Traditional in all the right ways, she is inspiration in each inspiring sour quaff. Now that I have partaken of three easily accessible Jolly Pumpkin ales, I shall have to continue my search for more. thejon375 (392), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2009 Bottle. Heavy grain and straw aromas for the malt, moderate pondarosa lemon and musty basement for the hops and yeast, with strong background notes of coriander, sour apple, white wine, pepper and wood alcohol. Head is huge, rocky, white with thick piling up lacing and is full lasting. Color is crystal, sparkling clear, with loads of particles on the last pour, pale amber. Flavor starts heavily acidic and finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery, with a lively carbonation and has a tart and dry finish. A huge array of aromas and flavors with a refreshing finish makes this one fine Saison. I think I’m really acquiring a taste for this type, who knows, maybe the lambics will be next.
