This delicious farmhouse ale is named for our Jack Russell, who struck by a car, bounced back in fine tenacious Jack Russell fashion, and is brewed for those of us who knocked down, have picked up, dusted off and carried on undaunted. Golden, naturally cloudy, bottle conditioned and dry hopped for a perfectly refreshing balance of spicy malts, hops and yeast. Please enjoy our beers in good health, And look both ways when crossing the street!

A subtle Saison. Actually, it seemed more like a mix between a Saison and a Sour. The aroma was of sour pears. The color was a lite ginger ale with a small fizzy head. The palate crisp, sharp and dry at the finish. It was not heavy. The taste was not powerful and had yeasty fruit essence followed by a small sour bite. Easy to drink and OK but far from exceptional.

Draft. Aroma has the saison aroma, but also hints toward white wine as well. Appearance is a hazy gold with a frothy, white head. Taste is saison with a taste that reminds me of green grape skins. Palate is ok. Overall, a great saison. Not overpowering like most saisons. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This was bottled on July 20, 2011 and I don't think it's stood up so well to the test of time. Had a nice off White head that settled right away, no lace and a clear yellow amber color. Aroma was the best part which is like green apples and yeast. Flavor was good but just in a kind of generic farmhouse /saison sort of way, nothing remarkable. Body seemed a little be a little on the thin side. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was basically a light to semi - hazy orange to bronze color. There was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving a light lacing here and there and all over the place. The smell had a decent light grassy lemon allowing a light pepper to invade lightly to even bring in a light lime as well. As it warmed even further, there was a light sour apple. The taste was mainly sweet with a light lime/lemon and then the sour apple. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The aftertaste was slightly sour but yields a gentle lemon/lime to sour apple finish. Overall, interesting saison I say. Would I have it again? Probably not due to the price.

Transfer from BA review on 9-3-12- Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – Pours a hazy orange color with a huge white head. The head has amazing persistence and leaves a very nice level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is of lemon citrus and yeast. With this are some lighter aromas of a sour apple and some pine hop notes as well. Taste – The taste starts out of a bread and lemon sour flavor. As the taste advances the sourness grows stronger with some tartness of hits the tongue. The bread flavor is rather light now and the sourness and tart flavors of lemon get stronger with some yeast flavors and a lighter earthy and grassy hop flavor coming to the tongue. The sour flavors transition from being just lemon to a more lemon-apple mix as the taste advances to the end with the flavor crisping up a bit to leave a bittered bite on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the lighter side with the carbonation level being rather high. Very standard. Overall – A decent saison,, but at the price you pay for it is not really one to go after -rather standard.

Bottle batch 494. Hazy yellow with a very large white head. Farmhouse, light band aid, crisp apple, mouldy, light pepper, wood, earthy. Light body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, light sweet, light/medium bitter and light sour. I think the high carbonation lowers the drinkability a bit, but otherwise a very pleasant beer to drink. Kind of a farmhouse thing with a lambic touch.

Hazy gold pour with thick white head. Great lacing. Spicy earthy aroma with some lemon. Taste is tart lemon, spicy, earthy, and funky. Maybe a hint of green apple. Light body and dry. Really enjoyable.

750ml bottle. Hazy orange with a foamy white head. Flavors are wet hay, wheat, pepper and lemony tartness with floral and earthy notes. Light to medium body, high carbonation, smooth texture. Finish is really dry, remarkably refreshing.

Awesome to see Jolly Pumpkin arrive in Texas! Pours hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma of sour fruit and spice. Taste adds yeast and fruit is more distinctly lemon. Bright and refreshing with a nice sour kick.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with thick frothy white head that lasts leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is strong yeast, funk, leather, honey. Medium mouthfeel with nice light spiced malt, light funk, and lingering dry finish, good.

Tap at JP. Pours a cloudy light amber color with a small head that fades and leaves some webbing. Aroma is all spices and black pepper and so is the taste. I don’t really get this beer. If tastes like it’s overly spiced to cover up a flaw or something. Slight hint of sourness in the finish. Never been a fan of this.
