JadoreBlanche (114), London, Ontario, Canada Mar 6, 2006 My first beer from my first beer festival, was a great way to start. Cloudy dark yellow body, with white head. Sweet yeasty aormas. Has a tart fruity flavour of apple and slightly yeasty. Has a slight bitterness on the finish that wasnt overpower which I enjoyed. I bought a few bottles of this to take home!!!
BeerGestapo (430), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 9, 2009 Brewed in the USA.... Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo. Pours a hazy golden color with a Monster foamy white head. Aroma of brett and barnyard must. Taste is of funk, hay, and earthy notes. The mouthfeel had a sharp stinging effect on the tongue. I agree with AFI96 about the pepper missing in the saison. afireinside96 (570), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 7, 2009 Bottle shared with BeerGestapo. Pours a clear gold topped by a massive fluffy white head. The smell is earth, leather, hay, and funk. Brett dominates the flavor though, lots of funk, hay, and grass. Missing that peppery saison yeast that would have made this beer complete. Lightly tart and refreshing. Intense stinging carbonation that I thought went well with the rest of the beer. Decent. GMCC2181 (559), Bear, Delaware, USA Jan 7, 2009 12z bottle shared by wolf. Hazy orange in color, small head. Tart aroma, and earthy. Taste is sour/tart notes, spices, and earthy. Light in texture easy to drink. Sour beers are not my favorite by this was enjoyable. Swolf3 (167), Elkton, Maryland, USA Jan 7, 2009 Bottle. Poured murky yellow with small white head. Aroma was earthy, tart/sour, with a little bit of sour green apples? Taste was sour spice citrus with a sour apple finish. Never had a Saison that tasted like this and honestly did not enjoy.
