Commercial Description:
This delicious farmhouse ale is named for our Jack Russell, who struck by a car, bounced back in fine tenacious Jack Russell fashion, and is brewed for those of us who knocked down, have picked up, dusted off and carried on undaunted. Golden, naturally cloudy, bottle conditioned and dry hopped for a perfectly refreshing balance of spicy malts, hops and yeast. Please enjoy our beers in good health, And look both ways when crossing the street!

appears cloudy, nice white head. aroma is fruity, with some hops, pine, fresh raspberries. flavor is very fruity and quite hoppy. fruitiness is citrus and læemon, fruityness part reminds me of hoeggarden, beer is more like an ale. refreshing.

Thick white head. Dusty light yellow. Big funky farmhouse nose; lemon, spice, sea air and kelp. Spice on the tongue, that sea taste and a sour finish. Hint of cheese. Light foamy body. A hint of clove or pepper.

in the bottle from beertopia. pours a muddy gold like the missisipp with an enormous off-white head that cannot be contained in a tulip glass. the aroma has that "old" smell to it - much like when you first walk into grandma’s house. the beer is fairly sour at first, then the tartness abates suddenly into a long oaky aftertaste. there is some orange and cloves that emerge when the beer warms, but overall this is not dexter’s best.

Bought a 750mL for my Mom as she likes and owns two Jack Russell Terriers. The beer is a bit funky. Pours with a large, rocky, white head over a slightly murky champagne colored body. Small bubbles rise to the surface the entire time that the liquid is in the cup. LOTS of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is funky, citrusy and woody. Taste is a somewhat sharp, funky, sourness, with nearly some raspberry in the finish. Mouthfeel is ultra dry, which is to the style, but not my favorite quality in beers. Cute picture on the bottle is probably the most memorable part of this beer. Still interested in trying the E.S.Bam.

Bottled. Hazy golden with a rich white foam. Fresh and crisp aroma of biscuit, nuts, banana, maruenge, oranges and cracker. Crsp flavour of nuts, grass, lemon and banana. Clean and crisp finish of white bread, lemon, yeast and nuts. Really nice, an incredible quaffer.

Bottle. Golden amber beer with a huge whitish head. Spicy aroma with pepper, yeast, and a slight tartness. Tart/lemony flavor with yeast and earthiness. Lingering tart lemon fades to earthiness. High carbonation. Lacks complexity - just thought the tartness didn’t add anything.

Reminds me of Hair of the Dog Ruth. The appearance of this beer is world class. Dark, cloudy gold with large pieces of brown sediment and a ginormous white head that lasts a very long time. Strange yeasty, funk aroma. Not quite horseblanket, but it almost smells like gin without the alcohol. Very light hops in the aroma as well. This is a dry beer. There is some lambic like strangeness in the flavor that works very well. Just a touch of lightly bitter hops. Finish is very dry with aged bitter cheese like Saint Nectaire.

The pour reveals a cloudy, peachy yellow color with a thick pillow of white froth that leaves nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is very sharp and crisp, there are fruits, herbs, barnyard and hops uniting to form a superb farmhouse terroir. The flavor is also sharp and crisp, the farmhouse terroir is very present, a strong barnyard flavor that feels like drinking the dirt from the back of the barn, the hops bring a nice balance too and the sourness and dryness add a refresing feeling. The body is very full with a comfy, creamy texture, the carbonation is just right, lively enough to push the flavors forward but not too much as to disturb the palate. This a world class saison, good dog!
