MrChris (110), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Jul 14, 2006 Citrusy, musty aroma. OK, Lots of suds here on another bottle conditioned ale. Unfiltered, light oragne-honey colored in apprearance with increadable bubble production. Have to let this one settle down before I get the first swallow. Waiting. Waiting... BIG foam collapsing in to the center of the glass. Can’t wait any longer. Flavor is less obvious than anticipated. Citrusy taste makes a bee line for your gullet. No real taste in the front of your mouth. This bier is very easy drinking and light on your palate. Second pour. Here comes the foam again. Gotta watch what I say about this bier since I live next door to Dexter, Michigan, (Captain - Can’t wait to try your craft brews). This bier takes you back to thoes easy summer leasure moments like a good read from a great novel on your favorite lounge chair out on the deck.
BeerGestapo (430), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 9, 2009 Brewed in the USA.... Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo. Pours a hazy golden color with a Monster foamy white head. Aroma of brett and barnyard must. Taste is of funk, hay, and earthy notes. The mouthfeel had a sharp stinging effect on the tongue. I agree with AFI96 about the pepper missing in the saison. afireinside96 (570), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 7, 2009 Bottle shared with BeerGestapo. Pours a clear gold topped by a massive fluffy white head. The smell is earth, leather, hay, and funk. Brett dominates the flavor though, lots of funk, hay, and grass. Missing that peppery saison yeast that would have made this beer complete. Lightly tart and refreshing. Intense stinging carbonation that I thought went well with the rest of the beer. Decent. GMCC2181 (559), Bear, Delaware, USA Jan 7, 2009 12z bottle shared by wolf. Hazy orange in color, small head. Tart aroma, and earthy. Taste is sour/tart notes, spices, and earthy. Light in texture easy to drink. Sour beers are not my favorite by this was enjoyable. Swolf3 (167), Elkton, Maryland, USA Jan 7, 2009 Bottle. Poured murky yellow with small white head. Aroma was earthy, tart/sour, with a little bit of sour green apples? Taste was sour spice citrus with a sour apple finish. Never had a Saison that tasted like this and honestly did not enjoy. Miksu (1478), Jyväskylä, Finland Dec 31, 2008 0.75 l bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. Hazy straw color with persistent head. Dry, tart, fruity, peppery, clovey and appley aroma. The flavor is bone dry with
plenty of clove, pepper as well as tart lemon and grapefruit. Very refreshing and tasty.
