When I opened it, a foamy column started creeping up from within the bottle. Poured with a gigantic head and it took me about a minute to pour the whole bottle because the head was so lasting. The beer is a dark brown with a slight reddish tint. Had some nice lacing. The aroma is the great Jolly Pumpkin rye / funky horse blanket with some apple cider vinegar. The flavor wasn’t too sour. Instead, there was a coffee roasty flavor in the background. Some bitterness in the finish as well. A pretty solid beer. pepsican (886), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA

Aroma is lambic funkiness and some fruit. Flavor just doesn’t have much going for it, very thin. Finishes watery, just not enough sour going on here like I was expecting. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 12, 2008 From bottle : Pours a dark color, with red highlights toward the bottom of the cup. A frothy half finger of white head forms then dissappears, leaving a foamy ring. Nice farmhouse smells, lambic-ish. Taste is not so nice. Carbonated, and no real flavor. Kinda like club soda. I continue to be baffled by the saison. It is just such a weird style to me. Medium body, with a sticky feel toward the end. And im not a fan of the aftertaste. Not very good to me. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours brown with slight black and lots of red hues throughout. Lots of thick, foamy beige head, three fingers that lingers for a heckuva long time. Nose is yeast and sweet funk, dark fruit and slight pear. Fruit (apple and pear) and spice , sourdough bread, some roasted caramel, mild barnyard funk with some moderate bitterness at the end. Pretty decent all around. Love the JP funktastic saisons. MMMMMM. bhensonb (4406), Woodland, California, USA

Great mahogany color with a beige/tan head that actually laces. Full bodied with mild and creamy carbonation. Flavor is lightly sour, with roasted caramel, and lightly spicey dark fruit. Slight touch of barnyard. Refreshing. A session beer for Belgian fans. About time. michael-pollack (2763), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber with a two finger lasting light tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of JP funk, sour dark fruit, tart cherries, and green apples. Taste is yeast spice, tart cherries, citrus, spicy hops, and a hint of sweet malt in the finish. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of carbonation, mild to moderate bitterness, and a dry moderately tart finish. Very well balanced and very good. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2008 Clear dark red, creamy stable tan head. Sour funky barnyard aroma with tart apple and brown sugar. Sour and quenching with perfect residual sugar and great body for the size. Low bitterness. Has some spicy hop notes and mild earthiness with plum. This would be an excellent every day table beer. Very well conceived.
