3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 mL bottle, Batch 262, 263. Chestnut brown in color with a thick light tan head. Classic JP funky aroma, bordering on tart, nice and earthy. It seems the taste has a more aggressive bite to it than regular Bam, but its still pretty subdued. Lengthy herbal finish. Another winner from Jolly Pumpkin.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours with a reddish-brown body topped by a medium thick, off-white head with some lacing. It’s slighty sour and bitter with notes of vinegar. Light bodied and dry.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle. Pours a light cola brown, highly carbonated with a uniform sheet of well-retained head on top. In the glass when held up to the light it is a deep red color. Aroma is similar to every other JP beer, including the regular Bam. Light pepper and spice, generous funk, earthiness, brett, a touch of tartness evident, etc. There is a little maltiness underneath there, roastiness or slight chocolate, that is not there in the normal Bam though it is subtle. Flavor is tart up front that quickly changes into a deep maltiness and a dry finish. Quite different than their other stuff. Funkiness and sourness is low to non-existant in the taste. Smooth and quite drinkable. Light bodied. Another solid brew from one of my favorite breweries.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reddish brown, large head with pretty good lacing and retention. Aroma is quite tart with bret, notes of leather, barnyard action, various fruits, some caramel and hint of darker malts as well. Medium bodied, nice n tart. Big complexity for such a light beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is dark mahogany with a thin dense tan head...smell is super tart and lacto with strong wood and some light funk...strongly tart...but not abrasively so...taste is funky and tart, but not a lot of other flavors...it is lacking the saison aspect...very one dimensional...lightly sweet...lightly medicinal finish...incredibly unique and definitely drinkable, but not what I had hoped for...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Dirty brown pour, hazy with a lively, somewhat creamy head. Aroma of light vinous fruits, oak, a bit of barnyard, cherry, and pale malt. Flavors of tart fruits, dry malt, oak, and some brett qualities. Light body, tart/malty/woody with a tart/dry finish. Another nice brew from Jolly Pumpkin.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to Drew for this one. Dark purplish body along with a tall beige head. Sour and funky aroma shows some tart cherry and a light brown sugar character. Flavor is a bit watery and doesn’t improve as it warms as expected. It’s light, has some tart fruit, and a slight buttery quality on the back of the tongue in the finish. Light on the palate with an effervescent body.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
dark brown appearance with huge white head. immediately has a sweet malt to it followed by a very dry and oakey finish. not a whole lot of flavor, a very subtle beer that is underwelming i suppose

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle batch 250 pours a clear dark ruby with a smallish head that fades to sufrace foam islands and ring. The second pour is much nicer looking with a much more structured head. The aroma is grape juice, cherries, sour, and slightly funky. The flavor is suprisingly understated, slightly funky, woody, good yeast flavors, and sour in the finish with a rather dry palate. As it warms, it really starts to shine and improve - leather and spice start to surface, more of the sour notes make themselves known, some of the underlying sweetness also gets a moment in the spotlight. Once again, this brewer rules.
