COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of Bam's brown eyes is, in fact, black. When mischief reigns supreme, it positively glows. Dedicated to the dark side; smooth, dark, incredibly delicious as only a Jack Russell with bat wings can be.

12 oz. bottle purchased at D’s Six Pax. I noticed that D’s has a much larger selection of Jolly Pumpkin these days. Pours ruby black brown, thick off white head. Aroma is tart, oaky, bleu cheese, slight vinegar, musty. Flavor is meaty, smoky, peppery, some grass, but on the watery side. The aroma leads one to believe that the taste would pack a punch, but it does not. Disappointing for a Jolly Pumpkin beer.

From a 12oz Bottle. Purchased at Bello Vino 11/27/07. Pours a mostly hazy, tobacco spit, ruddy brown color with a thin layer of wispy beige head. Definitely low on carbonation relative to other JP beers. Dusty brett aromas of horseblanket and leather add some nice complexity to a light chocolate and fudgy prune fruit character that forms the malt backbone. Medium light bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel. The texture of the beer actually falls flat on the palate, dissipating quickly into a flabby, watery finish. Mild coffee and spicy oak present, but these flavors taper off quickly into a thin conclusion. The aroma was enticingly brett-laced and funky, but these dimensions didn’t really transfer over well to the flavors.

Bottle (750ml) and served in my NB worthy glass: Deep reddish brown topped by a small but lasting creamy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of mild brett and lacto, toasted and chocolate malt, coffee, fig and prune, musty and oaky vapours, and some light pepper and anise spice.

The taste is equal parts Belgian funk and sourness along with chewy malt and oak barrel. Subdued spice and fruit throughout. A nice complex little beer that simply will not be for everyone. The mouth feel is sprite and refreshing with a bone dry attenuated Saison finish. Mikey Likey.

Not bad, but nowhere near the original Bam. Musty funk on the nose with a thin mouthfeel and pretty underwhelming flavor.

12 oz bottle-Secret Santa-Pours a dark, cloudy color w/a good size tan foamy head w/lasts thru the brew. Had quite a few floaters. Flavors of dark fruit & plum, Has a wine like flavor to it w/a bit of a citrus afterbite & some woodsy overtones. Almost a little bit of a Bourbon/Port type finish. Good Stuff.

Pours dark brown with a moderate head. Very little of an aroma. Flavor is mildly tart with some hop bitterness. Flavors are warm with some qualities of darker fruits. Thin mouth feel.

750 from batch #250. Horizontal with bam biere and leelanau whaleback white. Clear dark/red that is like a flemish sour and off-white head/beige head. Aroma has a surprisingly large amout of coffee roast with oak and subtle spice. I swear I also get coffee in the flavor with that typical JP oak, cherry and other red fruit and a little sweeter than bam biere. Medium bodied and hotly carbonated. An interesting beer for sure, but not the monumental beer I was looking for.

Pours pure black, until held up to the light, when you see it is actually a muddy dark brown, with some significant haze. Aroma is dark fruits, with the musty, earthiness you expect from a saison or farmhouse ale, only this one is dark. The is also some tartness in the background of the aroma. Flavor is tart, musty and fruity, with very little malt. Some hop character, but subdued. Finish is complex, with a tartness and some fruit and must. A black saison, very interesting change of pace.

12 ounce bottle from Brad
Served in my La Chouffe glass.
Pours dark transparant brown with a thick off white head.
The aroma is saw dust, wet wool, blended spices, and a smidge of citrus rind.
I don’t get much flavor here. Its mostly a touch of brett tartness, but it takes more than that to trip my trigger.
Light body. High carbonation. Dry finish. Easy to drink.
This beer had a lot of potential for me until I actually took a drink.

Bottle courtesy of jjpm74: Poured a clear dark black color ale with a big foamy head with perfect retention and perfect lacing. Aroma of dry hops with loads of Brett is really enjoyable and classic Jolly Pumpkins. Taste is also dominated by some nice Brett flavours with some light sweetness and huge Belgian malt. Body is above average with some great carbonation. Complex beer with some nice controls of the funky aromas.
