One of Bam's brown eyes is, in fact, black. When mischief reigns supreme, it positively glows. Dedicated to the dark side; smooth, dark, incredibly delicious as only a Jack Russell with bat wings can be.

bottle poured into a snifter. Active off white head that quickly reduces to a cap, black as oil hue. Nose features slight sourness. Tart apple, cherry, and slight orange taste, somewhat earthy. Light and crisp mouthfeel, finishes to the dry side. Tasty little sour ale. Rated via BeerBuddy

Bottled, sampled at The Cotteridge Wines Convention, supplied by mR_fr0g many thanks. Hazy to cloudy amber with slight head. I had a sour sweetcorn note from this, if that is possible, some sourish fruit. A heavy beer for a saison in my eyes. Not really sure about it.

Poured a red/chestnut color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruits, cocoa, light wild yeast, and coriander. Taste of light roast, dark fruits, toffee, brett, with some leather, and a lightly sour finish I gotta get more of this

Bottle: Murky copper with dark brown towards the center. Extremely fluffy beige head; cloud-like & lasting forever. A touch of fruitiness to the nose with a backdrop of funk, old cork, & barnyard hay. Some apples, maybe a little red grape. Funk grows stronger with time. Sourness up front in the flavor but it mellows out very quickly then sweeps into a strong funkiness. Light berries, a touch of peach. Huge musty, funky, corky tones... Hay, mildew-y wood, & old cheese rind. The funk dominates the latter 80% of the brew with an extremely dry finish full of old driftwood, barnyard floor, & cheese. Not a bad brew but probably one of my least favorite from JP. Just doesn’t have the lovely balance they usually exhibit. A little too over the top with the dryness & funk.

Had a 2007 bottle, aged nearly 7 years thanks to Jeff. More acidic up front but still tons of that woody, cotton-like funk. It was probably the driest beer I’ve ever had. Finished like antimatter sucking the protons from your mouth. Estimated FG of 0.996 holy shit. Probably enjoyed this aged bottle better than fresh, but this is still a weaker link in JP’s portfolio.

Pours medium dark brown with a lot of persistent off white head. Aroma is funky, sour, rotten hay. Taste is pleasantly musty, sour wheat, acidic. Very carbonated, effervescent mouthfeel. Not overly "dark" but a good farmhouse style ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
