iO... how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Just kidding--Iím too drunk. Fabulous beer. Floral nose matches a beer with balanced funk and rose petals. I run to the brewery when this is on tap, but it tastes just as amazing out of a bottle.

750ml bottle (batch 101). Pours clear reddish brown with huge foamy 3 finger pink-tinted head. Nose is rasberry, flowers, funk, hints of tart, berry, woody notes. Mouthfeel is crisp, highly carbonated. Taste is mild tartness, strawberry, rasberry, earthy, floral, funk, subtle barrel characteristics. Finish is a crisp fruitiness up front which gives way to an earthy woody funk with some dark cherry notes. More restrained than some other JP beers, well done. Elegant, refreshing.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2013 On draught at Zwanze Day 2013, Avenue Pub! Pours a hazy reddish brown on tap. Aroma is big funky floral notes and woody Belgian esters. Taste follows, funky and yeasty, then a nice sour finish from the barrel. Good stuff. Almost opaque from the bottle with fluffy head. Add hay to the nose and a hint of citrus to the taste.

Smells flowery and romantic. Rose, yeast, light and refreshing.
tastes pretty much the same. Very light, sweet, and flowery, but in the right way.
A very romantic beer, perfect for sharing with a loved one on a special anniversary :)

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Unclear, pinkish ruby amber. Amazing Large fluffy, creamy, pinkish white head reducing to a lasting large rocky head with thick lace. Flowers (rose!), yeast, light citrus, pink grapefruit, soft woody and peppery, some barnyard funk - they all combine wonderfully into a soft dusty bouquet; very nice. Medium body, soft, light fruity sweetness, a little dusty dryness, light tart finish. A subtle yet very expressive beer.

BEWARE!!! As soon as I popped the top, I had flash backs of my 3rd grade volcano project. That was after it sat in the fridge for two days to settle. It pours a hazy amber red color with a GIGANTIC, bumpy, off white head with a pinkish hue--nearly iridescent. Mildly tart fruit on the nose. Like a mild strawberry pop. Very lively mouthfeel. Extraordinarily gaseous. Definitely some earthy notes in the flavor. But those are well-balanced with mildly tart, nearly ripe strawberries. Interesting and tasty, but the carbonation makes nearly impossible to enjoy.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Batch 7/8, Bottled February 3, 2011 (2 1/2 years).
Appearance: The body is hazy with an amber hue that is tinted purple and pink. A tall dense head accompanies the body, dissipating into a dense off-white coating.
Aroma: The aroma is floral of roses with a light sourness, hints of strawberry and cranberry. Very enjoyable with decent strength.
Taste: The flavor is very bright, but not with lemon, it reminds me of a day of Spring in flower garden. Rose is present, along side the underlying dryness of a cranberry with a mild tart sandwiched in between the two. The finish is dry without much lingering.
Palate: Light to medium bodied with high carbonation.
Overall: This is very enjoyable, I love the presence that the rose hips and hibiscus add to the tart that runs through. This is super refreshing and very drinkable. I wish I had another bottle for the Spring.

On tap at Jolly Pumpkin Ann Arbor. Pours a reddish pink with a ton of head. Sour on the nose, but a bit flat on the body. Decent balance.
