750 ml bottle. This one pours a cloudy, deep burnt orange color and topped by a tall, fluffy head of dense white foam that coats the glass with thick rings of lace. The aroma is very floral with notes of rose petals and hips, hibiscus flowers, and earthy spices. The signature Jolly Pumpkin barrel funk comes through with some peppery spice, old wood, and dry brett all atop a dry, doughy bread malt base. The flavor follows suit with the dry bready malt and some caramel sweetness serve as the back drop to the earthy spices, bretty oak, floral hops, and flowery rose petals and hibiscus. The palate sports a substantial body with tingly carbonation and a nice dry mouthfeel on the crisp finish. This is very different beer with all the floral components, but Iím just not a huge fan of the big floral components in beer. Even still it is a very well done beer. Another solid saison from the guys at Jolly Pumpkin.

750 mL bottle poured into a cervoise. Hazy red body. Nice white head. Almost smells fruity. Mostly floral. Light acidity. Strong yeast flavor. Floral flavors behind it lend some sweetness. Slightest hint of tartness dies down quickly. Light body with high carbonation. Not bad, but not very exciting.

This beer is a bright reddish-orange color with a thick white head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, florals and yeast. Medium body with flavors of fruity yeast, hibiscus and biscuit malt. The finish is floral and fruity with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

02.23.2012 bottle, poured on 05.30.2015. Heavy ruby with a golden white frothy head. The aroma is the Jolly Pumpkin funk, the taste of rose petals is there, but is almost cherry like. Very great with age. Just wow.

1 pint 9 oz bottle from Mile High. This beer is a gorgeous deep red with a firm, everlasting white head. A little haze is apparent in the body. The aroma is a little funky, as expected from JP. Notes of barnyard come through with firm and balanced rose hips and hibiscus. The palate is appropriately spritzy and soft on the tongue. Man, this is a dry beer. Itís awesome. The hibiscus and rose hips are not subtle, but so naturally work with the base beer. Notes of coriander come through along with hints at straw, cheese, barnyard and lime zest. Itís pleasantly tart throughout. Another offering from JP which just reeks of craftsmanship.

On tap at Teresaís. Floral, rosy aroma. Slight malt, funky, sour, tartness with a spicy floral bite. Quite good but not overpowering. Subtly sour.
